#dog #rip Hershey’s little big heart gave out on him Thursday the 25th. We’d gotten him from a rescue almost 6 years ago and they told us that the best estimate they had was that he was 8 yrs old then. He quickly latched onto me as his human. He made the most undoglike screams.

This is an important point. An impoverished populace will go to war to eat. An uneducated electorate will believe the lies.

Poverty as a driver of war
Of course, the creation of a large mass of poor people also served to prepare society for war.
The main motivation for those who volunteered for military service was not political support for Putin. Nor was it hatred of Ukrainians. The main motivation was their low income. It is so low that people cannot live in adequate conditions.
They also have no access to high-quality information, to high-quality education that promotes critical thinking, or to culture. Of course, such a society is the most important fuel for war propaganda. But above all, it creates the economic incentive for people to consent to participation in the war.

This is from a trip to Yellowstone in 2018. I fear, actually I know that our National Parks are in grave danger with all the staffing cutbacks. Without proper enforcement of off limit areas people are going to get hurt. And people are going to damage irreplaceable landmarks and landscapes.

I’m of the belief that Obama DID do all he could in his 2nd term. The R’s took control of the House in the 2010 midterms and effectively blocked any bold initiatives he may have taken. We got the ACA in his first 2 years of his first term.
