Pretty sure I’m the only person who has ever said “fully homomorphic encryption” and “Taylor Swift” in the same sentence Made a “Which Era Are You?” quiz with Claude Code and @niobiuminc.bsky.social’s FHE skill that tells you your era without ever seeing your answers. Open to any and all feedback!

A Rust rewrite of our CLI? We’ll take it. This week’s #TGIFHE comes from Andrew Lewman of Redwoods Research. He built fogrs, an open-source behavioral replacement for the Fog CLI. Same config, same API, and the secret key stays with the data owner while The Fog™ does the compute. Take a look.

Incredible use case for FHE. Super cool!

🚨 New #TGIFHE For OpenAI Build Week, our MBA intern Sarah built StealthMatch, an FHE demo, using Codex. Founders can rank investors and grants while sensitive inputs like raise targets and conflict lists stay CKKS-encrypted. Runs on CPU or Niobium FPGAs via The Fog™

Most people think encryption works because nobody knows how it works. On the contrary, all of the algorithms and research are public. The security lives in the math. Our latest FHE 101 post talks through how that math works. niobium.co/press/fhe-10...

Yep, totally agree. The demo itself acknowledges that bloodwork values need context and isn’t intended to be diagnostic. The health scoring was really a way to demonstrate the FHE piece: doing useful computation on sensitive data without exposing the underlying values.

Repo for anyone who wants to check my work: github.com/leila-db/vitalvault-demo It's the first app I've ever built, so feedback is very welcome. clone with --recurse-submodules or it will punish you the way it punished me

I built an FHE health app that analyzes your bloodwork but mathematically cannot see it. Niobium's open-source tools made fully homomorphic encryption approachable enough that I (marketing intern, zero coding experience) got it working in three days. Honest write-up, failures included:

How a marketing intern used Claude Code and Niobium’s open-source tools to build a fully homomorphic encryption (FHE) app that analyzes sensitive health data without decrypting it.

I LOVE this demo because you can actually follow the FHE process step by step instead of just seeing the final output. Awesome learning tool for anyone interested in FHE

Passed three new surveillance cameras on my run this morning. Nothing like a little involuntary data collection to start the day. If anyone reviewing the footage has pacing tips lmk

Question for the privacy tech crowd: what's the most compelling FHE demo you can imagine? Something that makes "compute on encrypted data" feel real instead of abstract. What use case would you actually want to see running live?

The encrypted computation itself runs in ~0.15s for 6 months of transactions, on my 8GB MacBook Air. And it scales with batches, not transaction count, so 50 or 500 transactions cost the same

Can confirm the intern had no idea what she was doing. The open source tools carried. Truly wild how easy it is for literally anyone to build with FHE now

I'd genuinely appreciate feedback here, especially if you actually know FHE. also happy to answer questions if you're curious about this stuff but don't know where to start

I have basically no coding experience, but I've been building FHE demo apps with @niobiuminc.bsky.social open source tools and Claude. latest: CipherSpend, a personal finance app that analyzes your spending while every transaction stays encrypted. the server never sees your data.

Our marketing intern wanted spending insights without letting anyone see her bank transactions. So she built CipherSpend. Full spending analysis on encrypted transactions. Built with our FHE Application Design Agent. Open source: t.co/QYfV4v4yBf #TGIFHE

Bletchley Park turned codebreaking from an art practiced by a few into a repeatable process, then handed the mechanical parts to machines. We are applying the same lesson to the opposite problem: building encrypted applications. This time the machine works for the encryptor. Read the post:

I need people to try to break my FHE health app. I built a demo called VitalVault with no coding background, using Niobium’s tools. It calculates a wellness score from vitals and lab results while keeping the data encrypted. Would love feedback on the scoring, UX, or anything confusing or broken.

I expected the FHE implementation to be the hardest part, especially with basically no coding background, but Niobium’s open-source tools made it really straightforward.

Honestly, probably just getting everything to compile and run end-to-end on my 8GB MacBook Air 😅 Once that worked, the rest was mostly iterating on the health model and debugging.

leiladb.bsky.social @leiladb.bsky.social · 20/07/2026
Totally fair point. The underlying health ranges are based on published reference ranges, but the overall wellness score is still an estimate, not a clinically validated model. The goal was really to show what’s possible with privacy-preserving health analytics, not build a diagnostic tool.

Claude picked the initial params. I knew roughly the depth I was aiming for, then we went back and forth until everything compiled and matched the plaintext reference. I still have a lot to learn about parameter tuning though.

Some real numbers for reference: full run is CKKS at ring 65536, 128-bit security, depth 20, no bootstrapping. Takes ~2 min per submission on 16GB, longer on my 8GB Air. Encrypted output matches the cleartext reference within ~0.02 on a 0–100 scale.

Econ major, zero coding background. This week I built a CKKS demo with Claude Code + Niobium's public tools. It computes wellness scores and an estimated biological age on encrypted health data so the server never sees plaintext. Would appreciate some feedback, especially from FHE folks.
