The big one of the essay is here. Going forward I need all my non Black followers to get that I'm not your personal anti-racism and DEI bank just because I’m Black, on your feed & you are unaware of Black people’s culture and oppression.

Black allosexual people specifically Black lesbians, Black bisexuals and Black trans women have done more to defend me from the asexual + aspec community's antiblackness than non Black aspecs ever have. Don't let the garlic bread and cake memes fool you.

And of course, gotta shoutout the current Manchester Era too, bc while the reboot had a bit of a shaky start, it's really grown into its own #waterlooroad

I actually hate how sex-indifferent asexuals are lumped in with sex-favourable asexuals bc being indifferent to something, not just sex, doesn't equate to interest or support. We should be distinguished but if we had to be lumped in, 'sex-repulsed/indifferent' makes more sense

Not only is condemning TERF attacks on aces & aros bc 'asexuals/aromantics do nothing' an admission of your support of transphobia, it's a confession that you view asexuality and aromanticism as forms of sexual & romantic purity. And that you believe this purity is exclusive.

Ideally I'd hope people read my essay in full but if I had to sum up exactly what antiblackness in asexual, aromantic and overall aspec spaces is exactly and what does this all mean if you're Black and ace and/or aro, I'd say this 1 paragraph sums it all up.

I didn’t write this specifically about Ethel Cain, but it does sum up the reactions to her antiblackness and my response to when white/non Black celebrities and influencers are defended by their white/non Black fans. Purity is impossibility. 1/2

They call it moral purity because they feel guilt for the dirt of racism that is on their hands and can’t be asked to wash it away because they love the way it looks on their skin. There is a gross misappropriation of purity culture and Catholicism to call any and all boundaries, accountability and human decency as oppressive and fascist in the minds of white leftists who believe they are entitled to the violence and arrogance they believe white conservatism has robbed from them. Black people on the other hand, are the real victims of online moral purity. Our oppression is our own fault. We must uphold all the values of whiteness on our heads, walking on eggshells and if we ever, ever slip, or tumble or lord forbid fall, we feel the crack of the whip of respectability politics slash our backs once again. Every single time.
