An interesting sign that something big is definitely about to happen in search: the "Crawled - currently not indexed" is seeing some really interesting activity. Falls. Massive drops. That suggests a big analysis of content on site.

I agree that Webworm is better work and more important. Didn't know the cost. Was more going to say DT is where most of us found you, and because it's video can be easier to connect with. Publishing and supporting it is definitely a time though.

I have wondered whether if you crowdfunded a second season of Dark Tourist, even near a tenth anniversary, if that would draw the funding. Journalism is difficult to fund in this day and age. Especially when working as your own publisher.

What in the. The streaming aspect was literally the most intriguing part. You didn't need the hardware. You could play on your phone or TV. What a way to kneecap it.

Educating the four year old and nine year old on the importance of vaccines by talking about curable illnesses and showing a whooping cough video. They get it. They're kids. This shouldn't be difficult for adults.

Hey Martin, appreciate the comment. A fun little aside: I grew up in America, so some of what I say includes Americanisms. I also use the word y'all. Has it diminished anything I said, or is it mainly a note against how I said it?

There is an awesome new album to bring some light to your day: Kind of Grunge. Jazz interpretations of rock and grunge recorded in one take. Love the playfulness, the genre bending. The arco on Disarm leading to pizz and playful piano. This is so cool. music.apple.com/au/album/kin...

I'm clearly on a well engineered train because we're stuck in the tunnel between Redfern and Central, and the train just says "doors closing please stand clear" repeatedly when they are closed. I just want to knock on the driver's door and ask if he's tried turning it off and on again.

"They can edit him out of that." To the person who tried standing in a victory photo, that offhand comment by the commentator was great.

The government's AusAlert system triggers on August 27... so what will it be like? I used a bit of code to simulate it, and also got some answers to questions.

AusAlert set to alarm phones on July 27... what will happen? – Pickr
Every Australian is going to hear a test at the end of July, with phones and mobile wearables likely to see and hear it... whether they want to or not. Will it affect your calls?

Adams Twist: *you press a button* The guide lights up an entry with a choice of Fry or Jones. "The 'Who's Next' paradox was a back-and-forth attempt at comedy that had a hand in the destruction of sanity on a social networking platform in the 2020s." *turns off the book* *takes the analgesic*

Meta Twist: a new showrunner was watching this back and forth, and suddenly realised he could call a long lost cousin about some ideas that could revitalise the franchise.

Crossover twist: Star Trek's Pelia confirms this awkward stage in human history was what led to the conflict in First Contact and the Doctor was working to help build the warp engine to usher a generation of human prosperity and peace sans-generative AI.

Further plot twist: the Master is reintroduced as the architect of destruction, but is actually just re-engineering the world by plugging it into an AI and forcing people to speak unintelligible gibberish while destroying its water and energy surplus in a surprisingly on-brand own goal metaphor.

Aside for the obvious point, it's a good question. LiDAR was my first thought, but it would only recognise depth. A camera makes the most sense, but maybe if it was connected to on-device AI to indicate what things were. Regardless of what they were in, you'd still have a design issue.

Plot twist: the companion will be AI and powered by a new model every week even the doctor can't influence. Hallucinations galore amidst a puzzled look by the Doctor noting this aspect of human development went a little off kilter in a timet-wimey way. I added timey-wimey to my phone dictionary.

Last year I tried improving my reviewing processes by building a battery testing app for iPhone and Android. It's connected to the world-first personalised benchmarks feature on site. So naturally it made sense to build one for testing batteries on Mac and Windows laptops, as well.

What a bleak point in the modern era: people want to pick fear and hate with practically zero addressing of issues over... *checks notes* the opposite. None of the parties inspire confidence for the future, but why are we picking hatred when we're seeing it wreak havoc overseas? Come on.

In 2010 when I met @drmummabear.bsky.social, I said I didn't care about soccer. Fast forward to today when I cheered the goals, walked through shops fixated on my phone for the score, and just woke up anyone having an afternoon nap in the Shire. In other news, who even am I?!
