March Reading recap. Highlight: Taiwan Travelogue! Brilliant. #booksky #litfic

When I'm not reading cool books, I work for Myeloma Canada where I get to help people living with this rare form of blood cancer tell their stories. This past month was #MyelomaActionMonth, and the community collaboration has been nothing short of inspiring. Thank you for letting me into your world.

Starting my International @thebookerprizes.com reading this week with Taiwan Travelogue. So far it's rich, silly, and dense with information. #currentlyreading #booksky #litfic

I wrote a little opinion in The Main about how the things that make Montreal incredible for artists are the same things that make it possible to be a young weirdo parent. Will the Next Generation of Creatives Be Able to Have Kids? - The Main www.themain.com/articles/cre...

Will the next generation of creatives be able to afford kids? - The Main

Cheap daycare, 1,500 parks, and creative communities made raising interesting kids on a patchwork income possible. Will the next generation of creatives get the same chance?

In total awe of George Saunders's imagination. He's dreaming up Vigil, while I'm wandering around replaying arguments in my head. #booksky #litfic #currentlyreading

I'm generally a slow reader but January was an exceptional month for my reading. The highlight was The God of the Woods by Liz Moore. My ma and I read it together and were kept guessing until the end. #litfic #booksky #reading

Why do I do this to myself? This left me terrified and resigned. Not a great way to begin 2026. Fascinating, well researched, brilliantly written, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. #currentlyreading #booksky #audiobooks #bobfiction

First book of the year! Liz Moore's God of the Woods was lots of fun. The perfect mystery. More of a potty book than I usually read, but ideal staycation read. #booksky #mystery

This is fine. It's written like a pile of columns, of course, so it's perhaps a little oversimplified. #booksky #nonfiction

The plan is: Finish My Friends by Hisham Matar Move on to The God of the Woods by Liz Moore Maybe start The Golden Daughter by Halina St James Finish listening to Abundance by Ezra Klein and Derek Thompson.

Big emotional complexity to the characters. It's rare, I think, to see friendship written about with such precision. I also love reading about history through lit fic, and Libyan history is very new to me. Oh! And these characters love literature. I'm enthusiastic. Can you tell? 😅

Good tidbit! Yes, the way she shifts the time between chapters to avoid the drama is masterful.

From this series, I would say I'm really enjoying the most recent. From the big series, Book 2, but I think that's because I have a bunch of kids and feel like the world is crumbling outside while I make lunches. Not a Knausgaard, but have you read Kairos by Jenny Erpenbeck?
