My arm, and at the end of it, in my closed hand oddly enough, there’s a banjo neck. The headstock is the sorta sword pommel and the neck is the… blade I suppose, but then there’s an added bonus of a sorta spike, which is how the banjo neck gets connected into the body. This is the worst alt text ever, sorry.

I done made a welding. The joints are strong enough for the job, but the art is still lacking. 5mm steel, lots of amps. Next up: make a circle with 5mm rod, and mount it in the middle.

🤓 Nerd out! A Soviet era 6Н2П valve in a Bugera guitar amp simply does not work. In fact it won’t work in any modern amp that I know of because its filament configuration is different from most these days. This one’s filaments (heaters) are on pins 4 and 5 only. No centre tap on pin 9.

Came up with this lil electrical design today for a customer. Harley Benton SG, new pickups with (crucially) 4-conductor wire. Coil tap (shunt) for each pickup, phase switch, and a fourth switch to configure the two pickups in series or parallel

A small-medium fridge, its door is open to reveal a solid, yes absolutely solid, mass of frost. It’s literally a rectangular cuboid of frost taking up every bit of possible space. It’s the fucking ice age in there.

Walking to the bus station from the pub, and it’s like… what the fuck is in that hole?

Construction site; some fencing around a shallow rectangular hole. There’s a bunch of unidentifiable crap that looks like… hell, I don’t know. Bones n shit? Can’t be.

Weird lil construction site, fenced off, but in the middle distance is a curious looking old building. It most likely was an end-terraced property, but all its neighbours have all disappeared into time and progress, so it stands alone like a sentinel. That, or fuck you whatever.

How it started: Two pieces of aluminium, each bent around 90° to hold two different things. Plan is to practice welding and make a replacement that will do exactly the same thing, but requiring around four times the effort 🤦‍♂️

The exhaust outlet can’t poke beyond the same vertical plane as the furthest end of the rear tyre. Otherwise it would be insane.

<rubs thighs> It all needs modified, but this is my new exhaust system; well, everything 24” beyond the O2 sensor anyway. The cat-con pipe needs a new outlet angle, the can needs a whole new inlet pipe, but here we are. It’s frickin BIG, but hopefully quiet.

I had the big brain idea to search for used BMW silencers, and found an F650 can that should do the trick. £65; apparently these are reactive, which means zero maintenance, technically effictive forever. It’ll probably need a new connecting pipe to get the angle I need, but all good #motosky

Can you guess? Yep, it’s a boring old stainless steel muffler/silencer for a motorcycle.

Just getting a feel for the eventual lines of the rear end rebuild. The bend is definitely the wrong angle. The plan is for a horizontal can. #motosky

I’ve zip-tied a bit of motorcycle exhaust pipe to the existing setup, to get an idea of how it will look in the final build.
