boutros boutros-bengali @lehasard.bsky.social · 26/01/2026watching the testament of ann lee in 70 mm the same day it got totally blanked at the oscars was quite something, esp when one thinks about how they received the inferior brutalist; mona fastvoldt is definitely the more original and interesting filmmaking voice in that partnership 021

boutros boutros-bengali @lehasard.bsky.social · 27/01/2025had fully expected to have a strong response to the room next door, given that almodovar is my favorite director and swinton a lifechanging artistic influence (orlando baby) and that physical pain is a dominant part of my life but wow this film felt almost unbearably personal 040
boutros boutros-bengali @lehasard.bsky.social · 06/01/2025idk if people who don't super know about nineties pop culture realize what a big and buzzy and culture-dominating star demi moore was; like this cover was one of the most famous photos of that decade and she was the highest paid actress of all time for a while 212
boutros boutros-bengali @lehasard.bsky.social · 12/12/2024i see a lot of feature not bug talk ("film is a visual medium! the bad dialogue is intentional! it reveals a childlike sincerity!") when it comes to cheesy/clunky movie dialogue and that's ok but god i miss actually polished witty carefully considered ADULT language in the movies 010
