Good morning backlog! Today's video is kind of a mini podcast of sorts: life updates, gaming tribalism, Final Fantasy Resonance, The Blood of Dawnwalker, and Onimusha: Way of the Sword! It's a whopping 30+ minutes, so grab a cup of your favorite beverage and hit play! youtu.be/ZmEvUBeaDA8?...

Anyone thinking “finally Game Freak’s making games that aren’t Pokémon” clearly haven’t played Tembo The Badass Elephant and it shows

I love Lost Odyssey! A bunch of amazing people compiled all of the wonderful short stories in Lost Odyssey into one beautiful hardbound book and sent a copy to me! And they were even considerate enough to send it with a thing of Kleenex for the tears! 🤣🤣🤣😭😭😭 Thank you so much!

From now on, I will hereby replace Odysseus’ name with Matt Damon’s in the book and the movie because it’s infinitely more hilarious to think of him having to go through what Odysseus went through 🤣

I asked my bestie who The Hand was from the upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day and he described them as glorified Marvel jobbers and I can’t get over that description 🤣

Resident Evil: Code Veronica is one of my all time favorite Resident Evil games, so hearing that it's getting a remake is sending me to Cloud 9! I can't wait to meet Alfred Ashford and Leonar... I mean Steve Burnside again for the first time!

You can call it a Souls-like. You can call it a Zelda-like. You can even call it a Castlevania-like. But the most accurate way to describe this game is Mina the Hollower: One of the best games of 2026! Here's my review! youtu.be/ffKyaf4D2Qs

In case you're wondering, I've reverted back to my pre-BB levels of social media usage. That doesn't mean that I'm not checking things here, of course - I just have to be selective with how I spend my time these days!

I find it sad that what people find the most compelling gaming content are the ones not about the games themselves, but about how they succeeded or failed.

I attended a small Oscars viewing party yesterday and was so happy for all of the winners, but especially to Jessie Buckley - who had a lock on the category, Ryan Coogler, and Michael B. Jordan! I love that he brought his mom as a date to the various Awards shows he attended! Was such a fun evening!

The thing I always say is that if you copy what someone else is doing and not understanding why they do it beyond “it gets views,” it’s for sure going to lead to burnout. I’ve always tried to zig when everyone’s zagged, and while it doesn’t always pay off, I’m still happy that it’s me who did it.
