If you’ve been sticking with me lately, you’ve seen me slowly roll out a metric I’m calling Apex Score. The idea behind Apex Score is to boil indicators of future upside down to a single number. This, alone, may be foolish. I’ve gotten really deep into

I’m excited to introduce LegUp’s newest author, Artrell, a sports medicine trained physician with multiple years of experience at the D1 level of collegiate athletics. This summer, Artrell has been helping us behind the scenes to dial in our injury input for the Sidekick and LegUp ranks. With

In the last two weeks, I’ve written damn near 15,000 words about WRs and RBs, going round-by-round to compare Apex Scores to ADP in search of market inefficiencies. This time, I’m doing things differently. * Introducing Apex Score: Quantifying Upside and Beating Redraft ADP at Running

Over the last few weeks, we've been working on a new draft tool, essentially a Sidekick-lite. I'm happy to announce that the LegUp Kickstand is now live and ready for drafts on Underdog or DraftKings. Here are the basics: Legendary Upside still has two subscription tiers. LegUp

Mat Irby’s Apex Hunting Series All through the spring and summer, I’ve been dropping some dynasty buys and sells, but these aren’t based on the typical value arguments you’re accustomed to. I’m an upside guy, working for an upside publication, so I figured I’d

Happy 4th... and happy drafting in the FFPC Main Event. We have you covered with rankings. For more Main Event content, over on Ship Chasing, we've been chronicling our first Main Event draft of the season.

The FFPC's best ball tournament is one of the most fun formats out there, featuring two FLEX spots and—people forget—Tight End Premium scoring. We have you covered with rankings.

Mat Irby’s Apex Hunting Series This spring, I’ve been scrutinizing the marketplace through KeepTradeCut’s crowdsourced dynasty ranks, searching for buy and sell candidates. But unlike most value-based dynasty articles, I’m framing these arguments strictly around upside. Here at Legendary Upside, we have built our brand

The 2026 rookie class, as dynasty players will tell you, is not strong. This has been covered in considerable detail by others in the industry... and by me. And in working my way through rookie drafts, I didn't get any higher on this class. From a dynasty perspective, particularly from

Mat Irby’s Apex Hunting Series This offseason, I’ve taken a new spin on the typical buy/sell article you might see in most of the dynasty spaces out there; rather than a strict value argument, I’m basing the whole enchilada on upside. In other words, I’m

The 2025 rookie class doesn't have a great reputation. But one of the perceived silver linings seems to be the depth of the tight end class. Unfortunately, I think this perception is incorrect. This tight end class, I guess, could be considered deep. But it's deep mainly in the sense

If you haven’t been following along, over the last few weeks, I’ve been evaluating which players may be mispriced in dynasty markets based on the upside they offer. If you missed my first two articles, be sure to check them out: * Apex Hunting: Dynasty Wide Receiver Buys with

I'm using KeepTradeCut's ranks, based on crowdsourced market surveys, to determine which players are mispriced relative to their upside potential going forward, anchored in statistical indicators for future ceiling outcomes. Last week, I tackled

The first player off the board in the 2026 draft will be a QB: Fernando Mendoza. That's meaningful. NFL teams consistently add a draft premium to their scouting grades for quarterbacks. But that still doesn't guarantee that a QB will go No. 1. For example, in 2022, the first QB

With free agency (mostly) in the rearview mirror, it's time for a big dynasty rankings refresh. I also jumped on with Jakob Sanderson and Davis Mattek to discuss our individual rankings. You can find my rankings below, which include the 2026 rookie class.

The 2026 RB class is top-heavy. And that top-heavy nature is driven by one prospect: Jeremiyah Love. Love is clearly the RB1 in the class. He's also the consensus Superflex 1.01. And in early best ball ADP, he's the most expensive rookie by a wide margin. The main debate

The FFPC Playoff Contest is gloriously simple... until you sit down to actually make a lineup. The rules are objectively straightforward. Roster Requirements You select one and only one player from each playoff team to fill out 14 spots, which looks like this: * QB * RB * RB * WR * WR * TE * FLEX

Mat Irby’s Quick Slant * Rams * Falcons In this place, where I would usually drop some descriptive prose—some wannabe, I don’t know, Cormac McCarthy or whatever it is, which is neither particularly good nor in any way appropriate for a fantasy football article (thanks, Pat, for putting up

Mat Irby’s Quick Slant * Bears * 49ers Ben Johnson nodded at Dan Campbell, confirming it was time, and Campbell nodded back. Soon, the faint sounds of whistles and clapping were background, while Johnson was alone in his office, a charcoal-gray sky brewing off the Detroit River outside, staring into the

Mat Irby’s Quick Slant * Ravens * Packers The Ravens are backed against a wall. They have a 9% chance at the playoffs. They cannot make the wild card; their only pathway to the tournament is to take the North from Pittsburgh. They play each other next week in what would

Mat Irby’s Quick Slant * Texans * Chargers With 6:15 left in the second quarter, the Texans came out in Deuce Close; the Chargers were up 6-0. Stroud took the snap, whipped around counterclockwise, and handed off to Mixon. Tuli Tuipulotu was ushered past the hoop, too far upfield, and

Mat Irby’s Quick Slant * Broncos * Chiefs 'Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the town, The Broncos were dreaming of wearing the crown. Their jerseys were folded, packed up with great care, in hopes that a West title soon would be theirs. The players were nestled all snug

These are PPR redraft rankings, with input from Pat Kerrane, Steph Miller, and Sackreligious. The addition of tiers is intended to help with tiebreakers and FLEX decisions. They'll initially align closely with the tiers outlined in the Walkthrough, but will then be updated until kickoff (just like the rankings). Note

Mat Irby’s Quick Slant * Lions * Vikings Gary: (With a slight nod) If I live to be a hundred, which seems optimistic under the circumstances, I doubt I’ll ever forget that snowstorm a few winters back. It arrived politely, then stayed, the way weather does here, until the world

Mat Irby’s Quick Slant * Cowboys * Commanders Every fan down in Big D liked the Cowboys a lot, but Major Tuddy, who lived just north of Rockville, did NOT! The Hog hated Dallas, the whole football season. Now, please don’t ask why; no one quite knows the reason. It

Mat Irby’s Quick Slant * 49ers * Colts On Monday, December 8, Philip Rivers turned 44. In the quiet southern tradition of his Alabama home in picturesque Fairhope, just off the eastern shore of Mobile Bay, it should have been a day of birthday cake celebration for the St. Michael Catholic

Mat Irby’s Quick Slant * Patriots * Ravens Where the Ravens under HC John Harbaugh stand is somewhat unfamiliar. They are a franchise that always seems to maintain their cool—a thoughtful, measured, and steady team that is almost always in the mix come playoff time. The Ravens blend toughness and

Mat Irby’s Quick Slant * Packers * Bears Stepping off the Northwestern Elevated Line at the Wilson station, your foot would clunk over wooden planks bolted to a riveted steel skeleton suspended some 16 feet above Wilson Avenue. You’d head south toward Broadway and the headhouse, utilitarian and cold, made

Mat Irby's Quick Slant * Eagles * Commanders In social cognitive psychology, a loss of confidence can often be traced to a decline in self-efficacy, a term coined by Albert Bandura in a 1977 article for Psychological Review. Simply put, self-efficacy is the belief that one can do what is being asked
