I re-watched The Zone of Interest last night. San Francisco reminds me of the Nazi's mansion
next to the concentration camp as Jewish people and other targeted scapegoats were being tortured and incinerated. I literally have people tell me they're grateful ICE isn't roaming the streets here like elsewhere. They don't have immigration court appointments, l assume, or else they would care about all the abductions that have been happening inside the courts.
They think they are safe in this lush Nazi mansion as they watch the smokestacks turn out ash beyond the bay. They are grateful.
Meanwhile everyone is subject to the whims and cruelty of the Nazi heads of household. The husband sexually abuses a Jewish servant. The Nazi wife is upset by this Jewish servant and has her sent to the concentration camp,

The Lemkin Institute for Genocide Prevention shared that genocide scholars are sounding the alarm over what they describe as escalating attacks targeting transgender, nonbinary, and intersex Americans in the United States. "Experts, including two former presidents of the International Association of Genocide Scholars (IAGC), warn that the nation may already be in the early stages of committing genocide.'
Dr. Henry Theriault, who served as IAGC president from 2017 to 2021, said, "I am concerned about genocide against trans people in the United States in the near future.'
The Institute noted the extensive anti-trans legislation produced by Republicans and the Trump administration over the last year.
