In some places it’s just not practical to extended the platforms be it localised infrastructure issues, the topography of the land or having to alter signalling. ASDO has solved a lot of issues for long train short platform - but there’s also an element of common sense on the ground needed at times

10-cars on services via Bath are rare but of late are increasing and it sounds as it this was the case in the day - going on the article and not knowing the incident/issue directly

Of it, the door will not release; however if the rear set is reversed, the First Class in that set would be ‘inside’ and would be platformed.

be platformed . A 10-car has the risk of the rear carriage door off the platform; so if access end is at the rear

It’s basically where the train builders put the Universal Access Toilets - of which the trains were erm specified by the DfT as HST replacements. However the full accessible area on a 5/10 car set is only in the First class area unlike on a 9-car where it is either end and would both

Via an app where delivery is offered by robot www.starship.xyz The robots have LIDAR sensors and will stop when they come into conflict and wait unit the obstruction moves or work a way round if not an operator will intervene
