Not internal, no secrets. Just means Engage was running a CMS build from source. github.com/umbraco/Umbr... We bump the version number as soon as a release goes out, regardless of whether it gets released or not, e.g. there won't be a official "beta2", next up will be "17.0.0-rc"

I'm usually aware of most #umbraco related things going on... but today's #umbfyi newsletter highlighted an Umbraco Virtual Lunchtime Chat (today 12BST/13CEST) which I had zero awareness off, so they'll have a bonus attendee now! 😂 #UmbfyiEffect www.meetup.com/umbraco-virt...

Thanks for the walking/atmosphere videos! I unfortunately had to cancel my trip last minute, so it was nice to get the CG vibes via your videos. #umbraco #h5yr 🙌

About the complexities, given I have limited free time to develop this, I end up spending 3 hours getting back up to speed, then 30 mins progressing, then realise it's the wrong approach, so I call it a day. Repeat weekly.

I'm still struggling to develop Content Blocks editor for #Contentment v6! But I did reverse my decision to remove it only about a month ago. The trouble I'm having is understanding the complexities of nested editors, or that it's difficult doing all this solo. Guess I miss package collaborations!

I was surprised that the polls were being ran each week, I'd expected them to be less frequent, when something topical came up. I'm curious about the additional comment part. Any potential interest in generalising those? or did they just reinforce the poll results?

I have a vague recollection that there might have been a CG in the USA in 2008, but I can't say for sure... @hfloyd.bsky.social did I just imagine this? Otherwise, it's just DK and the one time in the UK.

I considered it a while ago, but the vast majority of them are used with Data List's data source configuration UIs. It would only be Content Blocks and Social Links that could be separated out.

Very exciting to see real examples of other JS frameworks being used for #Umbraco backoffice components. 🙌 Courtesy of @guusnoij.nl's "Building Your Way: Extending Umbraco's New Backoffice" article on 24 Days. 🙏 #h5yr 24days.in/umbraco-cms/...

That's correct. 👍

Reasons for doing this: a. it's a fair amount of dev effort, (that is holding me up from releasing #Contentment v6); b. is it worth competing with #Umbraco Block List? Would missing features be better added to in the core/built-in editor?

Finding it difficult to gauge how upset folk would be if I obsolete the Content Blocks editor in #Contentment (for v6, the new backoffice version) and migrate existing data to #Umbraco Block List. 🤔

I'm happy to be a guinea pig. I've stayed subscribed so I can see the labels on others. 😄

Ah, the profile labels started to appear once I'd subscribed to your Umbraco Label(l)er. Personally, I'm not sure I like having a HQ label on my account, as makes it feel that my posts are official announcements/replies. 🤔
Screengrab of the previous post, displaying the "Umbraco Labeler" label for Umbraco HQ staff.

Do you know if these labels show up on the web interface? I couldn't find an example, (I checked the various Microsoft labelled accounts). 🤔 I'm not invested in Bluesky enough to install the mobile app yet.

Excellent write up! Years of knowledge distilled into a single article! I know where I'll be linking to when anyone asks about making a friendly backoffice experience.

Hey! 👋 Signed up a while back to reserve my username. Curious to see what the uptake will be, especially in #umbraco land. I'd expected Mastodon to gain more traction, but things don't always turn out as expected. Remember, social networks are like pubs. leekelleher.com/blog/2008/02...
