Reading some old X-men comics last night, and thinking I’d like to draw this guy…

Sometimes you just have to pencil and ink a fake ad for a Spider-man comic from 1982. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Spidey and the Juggernaut, a little nod to AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #230.

Went ahead and inked this thing…

Spidey swinging toward us, with an angry Juggernaut right behind him…

Decided to mess around a bit before starting on my real work for the day… “Nothing can stop the Juggernaut!’ Man, I LOVE Amazing Spider-man #229-230. #spiderman #marvel

The layout for a fake ad for the classic Spidey vs Juggernaut story, with the captions…

The Fantastic Four are busy.

The Avengers are out of town.

The X-men aren’t answering the phone (can you blame them?)

Guess it’s up to you, Web-head.

I’ve been lucky enough to draw a bunch of my childhood favorites professionally … but not this guy… …yet 😏 #spidermanbrandnewday

I don’t believe the question is whether or not THE GRIZZLY is Spidey’s greatest foe … it’s really just a matter of how much better is the Grizzly than all the rest of Spidey’s bad guys combined… 😏😏😏

Today, we’re on to The Scorpion…

Fun stuff from … two years ago??? Already..? From PREDATOR vs BLACK PANTHER #1… Script by Benjamin Percy, colors by Erick Arciniega, letters by Travis Lanham…

Black Panther gets blasted out of the trees…

…and falls to his apparent death. But it’s comics! He’s fine.

Comps! Had a lot of fun doing this variant cover for GEIGER #23, in no small part because it was such a treat to have the amazing Brad Anderson handling the colors! Big thanks to @1moregaryfrank.bsky.social and the rest of the @ghostmachinepro.bsky.social crew for letting me play with their toys!

Gotta say … I’m into this. A lot of this work is new to me … but not Iron Man #232. A favorite then, and a favorite now…

Something Drew and I are gonna have to get back to down the road…

A dog guy in a snowstorm … you know how it goes. Big eyes behind him, too.

I didn’t realize my GEIGER cover was out next month! @1moregaryfrank.bsky.social is a pal, and he designed an amazing looking character who’s a blast to draw. Seeing what Brad did with the color was the icing on the cake! imagecomics.com/comics/relea...

It’s been a little bit since I read this, but I picked up the compact edition over the weekend and … yeah. YEAH. @gregrucka.com @jhwilliams3.bsky.social and company really did something here … it’s SO GOOD. Just the burst of inspiration I needed :)
