MUSHIES 🍄💖✨ I love making these little mushroom friends. I’ve started sculpting some out of acrylic clay recently, hopefully I’ll have a few finished soon to share. #tattoos #mushroom #fungi #funguys #cottagecore #cutetattoo

I can’t believe it’s been 10 years 😢 I’m still working on reading the Tiffany Aching series, because it ends in the Shepard’s Crown and I am *not* ready. #GNUsirterrypratchett

A memorial post for the author, Sir Terry Pratchett, featuring the art of Paul Kirby. Terry is depicted wearing a tall top hat bursting with several of Discworld’s companion characters. The quote is “Mind how you go”, stated by who might have been Terry’s favorite character Granny Weatherwax. Sir Terry Pratchett was born April 28th, 1948 and passed away March 12th 2015. His work was prolific, proudly and fiercely progressive, and changed my life for the better at a time when I needed the most guidance. GNU Sir Terry Pratchett

Trash panda! 🦝🍄💖 This is from a few years ago, I have a backlog of work that I want to post here. Eventually I’ll catch up to more recent things, but I’ll try to sprinkle a few of those in too. #tattoos #raccoon #trashpanda

Behold a newschool raccoon tattoo, with playful proportions and filled with cottage-core colors and textures. Orange capped mushrooms, blueberry clusters and oak leaves break up the design and introduce more flow. This tattoo was completed in my third year of tattooing, and it is now my seventh year. I am still proud of it and impressed by how well the gray colors in the raccoon’s coat healed. The subject is my client’s pet raccoon and she spent much of the session chatting about this mischievous little punk and his addiction to sugar.

She’s my angel, my sweet baby bean, my precious little cinnamon roll baby named Hexi and she really just wants to lay on my feet all the time 💖 #cat

A brown and gray tabby cat sits pillowed up on a plush blanket between her guardian’s feet. Her whiskers are relaxed and her ears are forward, she looks at the camera—and her person holding it—and simply stares serenely. The cat’s name is Hexi, she is ten this year. She always wants to be beside me and her affection makes every day a little more special.

Storm Queen ⛈️💙✨ I’m really enjoying my Posca markers, y’all. If anyone wants to get this tattoo it’s perfect for a calf or a forearm! HMU #tattoo #goddess #posca #painting

This tattoo design features a split complimentary color palette that uplifts golden yellow as the star, with teal blue and true blue as it’s complimenting branches. The storm goddess’s royal blue hair echoes the power of rain and the raging ocean. Her iron gray skin promises an outpouring of power, draped in a delicate cream dress with golden jewelry matching her bright gold eyes. A light shines within her golden gaze, breaking through her cloudy face as a reminder that within her is the source of life. After every storm, the sun will rise again.

ALIEN 👽🍦💖 One of my favorites from last year, I really hope to get more requests as wild as this one! #tattoos #newschooltattoos #alien #colortattoo #horrortattoo

This newschool-style tattoo features a dark purple xenomorph alien crouched around an ice cream cone stuffed with pink alien eggs. Bright green ooze dribbles from the waffle cone’s brim and emits a lime colored haze that drifts through the background. Near the bottom of the cone a crack opens up to reveal more eggs. The alien creature wraps her tail protectively around the precious, sweet bundle and shows her teeth. Mashing together whimsy and horror, this tattoo plays with our expectations of the term “treats”.

Shovel Knight!! Did this a few years ago on my pal, Cody. I am not good at games like this one but I always loved the retro vibes it has 💙✨ #tattoos #videogametattoo #shovelknight #nerdtattoos

A colorful newschool-style tattoo of the main character in the game Shovel Knight. The character wears a suit of blue armor and holds a shovel sword high above their head—true to the character’s valiant and whimsical demeanor. Our favorite characters remind us to have fun and fight evil, and enjoy life. In the words of Joe Dirt, “Life’s a Garden. Dig it.”

Tattooing a Goid Boi today! I had so much fun during the design stage that I ended up with 3. We’ll see which one the client picks 💖

Color and rhythm in this peacock mandala piece give me the good brain tingles 🦚💙✨ #colortattoo #newschooltattoo #peacock #tattoo #mandalatattoo

A hybrid-neotraditional-style tattoo of a peacock synergizing with two mandalas, above and below. The complimentary color palette of teals and blues allow the orange and yellows to to dance from the center of the wing, and flow to the shoulder like embers. Peacocks are vibrant and splendid birds, and the rhythmic patterns of a mandala pull us into kaleidoscopic daydreams. Never forget that you, too, are a vibrant and splendid creature.

The lion turtle from Avatar the Last Airbender. It was a real challenge to create the illusion of this massive creature within a narrow vertical space. I had a lot of fun with the wind and light effects. Can’t wait to eventually do more on this arm! #atla #art #tattoos #arkansasartist

2 sessions in on my second attempt at color realism, and I’m so eager to finish this. It’ll take awhile yet—maybe it’s a new skill set for me but I’m slow at this. There’s a whole lot going on trying to achieve those layers and transitions on a tattoo #tattoos #art #tattooartist

Hello! I’m Lee Dandy. I am an artist and tattooer in Arkansas. I primarily design and create Newschool Tattoos, specializing in color work. I like anything nerdy, whimsical, and weird. All the links 💖✨ :: linktr.ee/leedandytatt... #tattoos #newschooltattoos #leedandytattoos

A photo of the artist: Lee Dandy. They are dressed in formal attire, navy and gray in color, standing in front of a mirror in a tattoo shop.

A newschool-style tattoo of a dead pigeon with gore created with neon pinks and green colors. Bright neon green and yellow fungi grow from the corpse as the design flows down the outside of a right forearm.

“Barbie-Yaga” This newschool tattoo is a take on the idea of Barbie’s Dream House mashed up with the Baba Yaga folk tale. The house is pink and purple and the legs are that of a Barbie doll, rather than a chicken. The legs are playfully attempting a “chorus line kick” amid glittery sparkles.

A newschool pheonix tattoo that stretches from armpit to knee of a plus-size model, fitting to and compliments her natural curves. The client’s melanated skin tone still holds all colors used in the design: black, orange, pink, blue, and a lot of purple. This image is fully healed—some areas are healed a month and others are healed for almost six months. The tattoo took 4 sessions to complete.

Ded birb 🐦💖 This pigeon is from my flash designs and probably the best tattoo I’ve done so far—I love it so much! #tattoos #art #tattooartist #leedandytattoos

A forearm tattoo of a colorful pigeon with glowing green fungus sprouting from its dead figure, with magenta and pink guts spilling as it falls through the sky. The style is newschool, the color palette is complimentary greens and pinks overall.

Sneak peak, but I’ve been messing around with gel gauche lately and it’s been fun. There’s definitely a difficulty to it for me, but I’m enjoying the process of learning as I go.
