They were close to being euthanized at a high-kill shelter in CA before coming to us, and then they arrived with parvo. They've already gotten lucky twice. Now let's make it three by finding them the families they deserve.

We've had 17 adoptions in the past week alone, and somehow Harvey and Dulce, the two most adorable puppies in the world, are still waiting for their forever homes! These two are filled with energy, love, and such a beautiful enthusiasm for life.

To the right person, that little bit of extra care could become a small part of a beautiful life together. Let's help this boy find his person. Please reach out to Auburn Valley Humane Society to learn more about Ronan, and share his story to help his future family find him.❤❤❤

Lee Asher @leeashers.bsky.social · 19h

Ronan is a special needs cat with a lion's heart and so much love and life to share. He just needs someone willing to give him a little extra care and a home where he can be himself. Ronan needs help going to the bathroom twice a day, which his doctor says is easy to do and doesn't take much time.

Yesterday, while we were at @auburnvalleyhs Auburn Valley Humane Society picking up two dogs, they asked if we could meet Ronan and help share his story... His beautiful eyes might be the first thing you notice, but there is so much more to fall in love with.

I know changing food is a big deal so Sundays is giving you 30% off to try it out.

Lee Asher @leeashers.bsky.social · 08/10/2026

I asked about food and you guys delivered. Thank you to everyone who recommended @sundaysfordogs. Not only does it meet Cali's standards, but it's nutrition dense, Vet-created and conveniently freeze dried so it works for the rest of the pack too.

One minute of pure happiness… I think our pup just found his place in the pack and Something tells me he’s going to be leading it someday. ❤️

Lee Asher @leeashers.bsky.social · 23/03/2026

He will be available for adoption once we get to know him better in the next few weeks so stay tuned on our website! I hope you all have an amazing week and please welcome Turbo to the pack ❤️

called Corneal Endothelial Dystrophy, which causes cloudiness over time but don’t worry, it’s not painful. His vision is currently good, and simple daily eye drops help slow progression. The best part? Turbo has no idea he’s “special needs.”He just knows how to love.

Lee Asher @leeashers.bsky.social · 23/03/2026

At just 1 year old and around 75 lbs, this cream Shar Pei/Lab mix is pure love, silliness, and puppy joy. He’s:🐶 Great with other dogs🤍 An expert cuddler👶 Amazing with kids🚶‍♂️ Loves walks and does well on leash And those eyes… 💙 Turbo has the most unique eyes. He has a condition

Lee Asher @leeashers.bsky.social · 23/03/2026

Today it’s my absolute pleasure to introduce you to Turbo 🐾 My friend Sue from @PeiPeople reached out and asked if I could take him in and of course, it’s an honor to help this incredible boy find his forever home. Turbo is proof that “special needs” really just means extra special.

Because of this community, dogs like King don’t just survive — they get a second chance at a real life. Thank you for making that possible.

020

Lee Asher @leeashers.bsky.social · 20/03/2026

Every day they’re a little stronger, a little brighter, a little closer to the life they’ve always deserved. I cannot wait for the day King gets to run free with the pack, heartworm negative and fully healed. And Lillie’s Lighthouse… this place exists because of you.

110

Lee Asher @leeashers.bsky.social · 20/03/2026

If a dog’s heart rate gets too high from running, playing, or stress. Then those fragments can cause dangerous blockages in the lungs. The beautiful part is… heartworm is treatable. These dogs aren’t broken. They just need time. King and his friends are doing amazing.

110

Lee Asher @leeashers.bsky.social · 20/03/2026

The treatment process is long, intense, and requires patience:• It often takes several months• It includes a series of injections to kill the worms• And one of the most important parts… is keeping the dog calm Why calm? Because as the worms die, they begin to break apart inside the bloodstream.

120

Lee Asher @leeashers.bsky.social · 20/03/2026

it’s because they’ve simply been unprotected in environments where heartworm is everywhere. Heartworm is spread by mosquitoes, and once inside a dog, the worms grow and live in the heart and lungs. If left untreated, it can be fatal.

110

Lee Asher @leeashers.bsky.social · 20/03/2026

especially in states like Mississippi where mosquitoes thrive year round. In some high risk areas, studies and shelter data show infection rates can be extremely high in certain stray populations, a large percentage of dogs test positive. It’s not because they’re “unhealthy dogs”…

110

Lee Asher @leeashers.bsky.social · 20/03/2026

some with severe skin issues. They’re all recovering at Lillie’s Lighthouse. They’re healing, getting stronger, and showing us who they really are. King especially is just pure soul. Heartworm disease is incredibly common in dogs coming from the Southern U.S.,

Lee Asher @leeashers.bsky.social · 20/03/2026

King update 🐾❤️ About a month ago, we took in King 👑 He is a senior Akita with the kindest eyes, coming from a shelter in Mississippi; thanks to my friend Neely, who transported him along with four other dogs. Every single one of them arrived heartworm positive…

Such a beautiful first week with Junior. He’s already been such a light to the entire pack and our team here at the sanctuary, especially in my own life and soul. I feel incredibly blessed to be his dad and to give him this unique, wonderful life ❤️

This is what starting 6:30am pack walks look like. I start off with the first group of the rowdy kids and then Sara joins me with the rest of the pack 15 minutes after ❤️ It’s always much easier when the weather is what it is today 🌞

They have no idea what’s coming. They don’t know today is the day everything changes. And I get to be there when it does. It’s going to be a beautiful day, especially for the dogs we are about to meet! 👏❤️❤️

010

Lee Asher @leeashers.bsky.social · 17/03/2026

I was so excited last night I could barely sleep. Today’s a big one! Sara and I are taking the van, which means more room… which means more lives saved. Nothing makes me happier than days like this. Knowing that because of today, a group of dogs will never spend another night in a shelter again.

Lee Asher @leeashers.bsky.social · 16/03/2026

Sometimes you just need to sit down in the grass and be smothered with love. I'd do this all day if we didn't have so much work to do around here 😂 ❤️

Happy Saturday. ❤️ May you remember the love that you are. The strength you carry in your bones. The courage that’s already beating in your chest. No matter what you’re facing… You were built to walk through fire and still choose love.

Lee Asher @leeashers.bsky.social · 13/03/2026

Today I’m sending you the strength to block out the noise. To block out the distractions both external and internal. So that simply by being who you truly are, you can live as an example of what an extraordinary human being looks like.

111

Lee Asher @leeashers.bsky.social · 13/03/2026

Obstacles others could not endure. But you can. You didn’t make it this far by accident. You made it here for a reason. And I promise you, that reason is not to fail. It is to grow. To rise. To become a better version of yourself every single day, even on the days when it feels incredibly hard.

110

Lee Asher @leeashers.bsky.social · 13/03/2026

Happy Friday. ❤️ Sending you all love… and most importantly, sending you strength. Because when we ask life for strength, life answers with challenges that test that strength. If you truly want to become the best version of yourself, you will face obstacles that most people would call impossible.

Welcome to your new chapter, Bella.

010

Lee Asher @leeashers.bsky.social · 10/03/2026

But this family chose Bella’s happiness over their own heartbreak. I’m grateful we were able to help someone locally here in Salem so Bella didn’t have to end up in a shelter. A reminder to always lead with compassion. We never truly know what someone else may be going through. ❤️

high-anxiety girl what she needs right now. You could feel how much they love her. And you could feel how hard this decision was. It always breaks my heart when good people going through so much are forced to make incredibly difficult choices for the sake of their animals.

Today we welcomed Bella to The Asher House. 🐾 Her family loves her deeply, but sometimes life brings circumstances we could never prepare for. Bella’s dad is currently battling stage 4 terminal cancer, and her family simply doesn’t have the time or capacity to give this high-energy,
