Overall, I love the game. There are so many routes and ending I have yet to explore, so I am curious to get back in and see what other ways I can go. Maybe I’ll go back and try to get an ending where there isn’t a ridiculous character death (ifykyk). Be good person doesn’t always mean happy ending.

Music was phenomenal. It was intense, emotional, and cinematic. It definitely set the mood for whatever was happening in each chapter of the story. It’s very Hans Zimmer coded in terms of “in your face” kind of music while still conveying those different emotions. Will be adding these to my list.

All of which had an impact on which branch my story was going down. Another cool part was the quick time events. Those were very stressful. It took me a while to get a feel and know what to look out for. It definitely tests reaction time and these events WILL have an impact on the characters.

Every choice felt stressful and had a strong impact on relationships, choices, actions, etc.. It was hard since nearly all of these choices had a time limit, so it adds a lot of realism to make the choice without much thinking. I’ve made good choices (mostly) and I’ve made bad choices.

My favorite part is when the 3 characters’ stories converge. Like I know what happened here, so I decided not to do this action and instead do this with the other character. Switching from thinking of one character at a time to all 3 was an interesting idea as we KNOW what happens for a choice.

First of all, the entire plot is super interesting. I don’t think there were many moments that felt like a letdown, but there were a few moments that kind of felt repetitive. The branching storylines and relationships with other characters was very interesting to play with.

(4) DETROIT BECOME HUMAN: Over the past month, maybe a bit longer, I began my first play through of DBH. Today, I just finished my first full run. All I can say is “wow” for a reaction. There were so many great things about this game. I can see why this game is an icon to the “story” side of games.

Overall this is a 12/10 game. The fact I still haven’t discovered EVERYTHING after so many hours definitely says something, especially after getting 100%. Maybe now I can finally have closure on this game and return to it down the road and uncover some more things that make this game great.

But I play like how I feel throughout the plot - start low honor and transition to high honor after realizing a lot of things about the world and the character. There is a reason why “redemption” is in the name.

Now I question myself if I go back and do a low honor play through. I’m not one to do those (I’ve literally refused to do weird route in Deltarune and genocide route in Undertale). There really isn’t a whole lot of difference from what I have seen, with most of it being dialogue and interactions.

RDR2 is easily one of the greatest games of all time. The world feels “alive” and reacts in a way that feels real. From the NPCs to the animals to the dialogues and the consequences of actions. There is so much depth in this game it is actually insane.

I heard about a special cutscene that happens if you visit a specific location as the very last item to complete 100%. I’m not sure if it happens by default or if you have to leave it for last, but experiencing that felt bittersweet and gave a sense of closure to this adventure.

If you are a wanderer/explorer like I am, then you can easily get to like 90% completion by the time you finish the story. There were actually still some side quests available to me, but I was hyper focused on 100%. I might go back and do the side quests and just explore even more.

On the contrary, some of the fun tasks involved discovering rival gangs, and it was cool to discover their hideouts and take down entire groups with just a single person. Those were the main tasks I had left when I booted the game up.

Another requirement for the 100% was the hunting posters. I HATED that with a passion. A lot of small critters and more specifically birds was included and having to find an area where I could hunt small birds was super tedious. The challenges and this were by far the most annoying to complete.

Completing all 10 levels of the 9 different challenge categories was pure insanity. Going back to pick up one of every single herb in the game was torture, and so was trying to win 3 straight games of dominoes or winning blackjack while hitting 3+ times. A lot of these required patience.

(1.5) Red Dead Redemption 2 After 375 total hours of playtime and on the 2nd play through, I have finally achieved 100% completion of the game (not 100% achievements). I will say some of the requirements to get this completion is absolutely miserable and can take forever to do.

I am looking forward to the final two chapters. It's hard to believe that the game is almost complete. This game I have been following since its initial release. Same with Undertale, this is a game that has been one of my greatest games of all time.

The end of the chapter was filled with dialogue that makes you understand the themes they were trying to convey, and I personally thought it was beautiful. While this did feel like a filler chapter and a "break" from the main plot, it did bring a lot of character arcs.

The bosses were more difficult, a few of which I raged at and spent a good amount of time trying to beat. OMG the secret boss was insane and totally slipped my mind. The in-game challenges were difficult as well, but fun. I feel like there were a lot of similarities to Undertale in these battles.

But that dark world design has to be one of the most beautiful settings Toby and the team has ever created. It really helped set the environment and gave a great worldbuilding element to the story. The music is amazing as always, with some variety than what you'd expect compared to earlier chapters.

The beginning felt the same as it did with chapter 4, all happy, funny, and a lot of energy from the characters and within the world. I love the new interactions and fun, interactive things we can do before we dive into the main bulk of the story. It gives a little slice of life before chaos.

To start, it is an absolutely beautiful and unique chapter. I know expectations were raised after the release of chapters 3 and 4, which flipped the happy fun game to a serious plot and events. Chapter 5 delves into that a little more, but explores a lot more of the side plot between characters.

(3) WARNING: SPOILERS FOR DELTARUNE CHAPTER 5 AHEAD! Of course, one of the most anticipated games of the year is Deltarune Chapter 5. It took me over 10 hours to do it, but it is done. Now this will be difficult to explain without giving spoilers but I will try my best.

I highly recommend checking out “Until Then” and follow up with the new DLC “Until Then: Afterimages”.

And that is because it keeps the main themes from the first game. While everyone wants to know what happened after the end of the original story, it defeats the purpose of what the game is really trying to teach us. Overall, it was a great addition even though it also made me cry.

It still had a very powerful statement and remained true to the original story. Based on some dialogue, I immediately knew it wasn’t post-story continuation and instead a part of the second act. The devs made a great decision of taking this route instead of going with the fans’ post-story wants.

Reeling it back in, a new DLC for the game was released today which added 2 extra chapters, which is what this review is actually about. From the trailer, I had my suspicions on where this takes place in relation to the main game. And boy, those two chapters packed a punch.

Anyways, I played it and it mentally destroyed me. One of the most beautiful story-based games I’ve ever played. The direction the story took was very intriguing and it kept me hooked the entire time. I don’t want to say anything that could be spoiler for those who haven’t played it.

(2) I came across this game a couple years ago called “Until Then”. Back then I was typically scouring the Steam store to find anything interesting to play. This game initially caught my attention because it was listen as a very story-driven game. I enjoy games with a story because it gives purpose.

2. Language discourse - this has existed long before these games even released. As a reminder, Toby Fox runs a tight knit team, and translate the games in languages they are fluent in. They keep it to English and Japanese because their team knows how to translate.

1. Shitting on a game dev, who has little to no control over where a live concert performs, is childish. He’s a game dev, not an orchestra director. Talk to the people in charge of the concert and ask them why they aren’t going to certain countries.

I could honestly go on and on about this game. It is honestly a huge level up from GTA V, and hopefully GTA VI will be more like RDR2. Now it’s time for me to go back and play it all again, but spend even more time focusing on getting a 100% completion of the story mode.

There are a lot of choice based moments that allow me to choose a result, some more complex than others. And the characters…omg…the game made me attached to the characters and their personalities. The constant interactions between NPC’s makes the game feel real.

I have at least a couple hundred hours in this game and I am just now finishing the main story. When I checked my save file, I was only at 90% completion. There is so much to interact and engage with outside of the story which makes the entire game world feel important.

(1) After a year, I finally finished the main story of Red Dead Redemption 2…all I can say is “wow”. I don’t think I’ve ever played a game with so much realism and depth. I did step away from the main story for a while to do side missions, explore, hunt, fish, you name it, but eventually came back.

Explain your @ Back in high school, we had a foreign exchange student in one of our classes. The first words they said to me were “he looks like a light bulb.” I decided to run with the joke and even add l.e.d. into it as well. At least I’m bright AND efficient.
