Masculinity and machismo are not the same thing. Mark Kelly is masculine. Pete Hegseth is macho. Masculine is responsible, has humility, and loyalty to the less than all-powerful. Macho is irresponsible, is vain, and loyal only to the all-powerful.

The best Alan Moore comic is 1988's "The Mirror of Love." 8 pages. The history of western civilization told through a gay lens. Narrated by twin gay angels. (It's in the anthology AARGH.) In contrast, WATCHMEN was only clever.
