Update: the pregnant cat under the car skipped the trap by having the kittens first. Ate breakfast in labor, went under the house, came out for dinner looking like a deflated balloon. Everyone's fine. Meanwhile, tonight's houseguest: orange tabby, trapped, spayed, sleeping it off. 🐾

The cameras under the car exist so nobody starts it with kittens inside. This is the cat about to make that relevant. Pregnant, eats our food, won't let us near her. Today we try a trap, on advice from the county shelter and YouTube. The kittens have not been consulted. 🐾

The cameras pointed at the car are not there because of the car. They are there so we can check that nobody has stashed kittens in the engine block. At five in the morning they caught this instead. He walked the whole undercarriage, left, then came back to put his face in the lens. 🫠

Turn the sound up. That noise is a cat explaining the seating policy. The possum turns up at the door about four seconds in. The cat growls once without lifting its head from the bowl, and the possum accepts this. The feeding station has a maitre d' now. 🫠

Found a bin of stuffed animals that all look like they've already survived something. Mismatched button eyes, crooked teeth, one of them has a single eye and I'm pretty sure that's not a defect. When I was a kid you got a bear like this by loving it for eleven years. 🫠

In June, Mozzie thwapped Pounce on the head for chewing on him. This week Pounce fell asleep with a paw on Mozzie's back and Mozzie did not move. It is a one-cat window bed. ☀️

I did so well at Costco. Avocados, zucchini, carrots, a cabbage. Then I walked into the bakery and undid all of it in under a minute. The cupcakes have sprinkles on them. I never stood a chance. 🧁
