I have established strong working relationships with council, the executive team, PNC and TUC that have enabled me to influence change and lobby for improvements. Council now meets regularly, without the executive team, to ensure we remain independent and member led.

Report after report found that the same people were cycling through the same roles for decades The college was led by people who listened to their friends rather than the average member I voted to end this and ensure that culture could never take hold again

I'm standing for re-election to RCN council as member for Scotland. Voting opened this week. I've been working hard over the past 18 months to ensure nursing's royal college is fit for purpose & works for members. I promised to focus on culture change so that's where I began.

I am thinking about our 90% female workforce on #InternationalWomensDay and every day Underpaid Overworked More likely to die by suicide More likely to be victims of domestic abuse Routinely sexually harassed at work I will continue to fight for better.

The Royal College of Nursing has issued a position statement, supporting decriminalisation of abortion in Scotland, England and Wales. Welcomed and timely. The UK is not immune to backsliding and must, instead, seek progress. www.rcn.org.uk/About-us/Our...
