This is the problem! Angela Paxton’s POS husband does not need to be in office for any party. Keeping a POS in office for the “seat” instead of electing someone for their public service, ideas, policies, and integrity is how we ended up with so many POS in office now.
“It’s not the people — it’s the seat,” Ms. Paxton said in the speech, which she later posted on YouTube. “Because we have more control over that seat and the future when we control the seat — when it’s still in the family, even if we’re mad at them.”

Maureen Dowd described it well in the NYT:
It's crazy to think about Donald Trump outrunning anything.
But in legal terms, the president is an Olympic-class sprinter. He breaks the law so fast that the law is left in his orange dust.
Trump is an outlaw. And our system was not built for an outlaw in the Oval.

This description hits so true. People, especially overseas, ask why we quit focusing on events. This is why, along with the fact that our system was not designed to deal with an awful president at the same time as an ineffective Congress. Gift link in comment—

I am super proud of some of these rural parts of Texas. It takes some guts to go against the grain, especially when the less informed people are family, friends, and neighbors. I’m so glad people are standing up! When you stand up for what’s right, you help others stand, too.

Rebecca Skloot did a fantastic job of telling the story. If you get a chance, pick this up.

No one even tries to keep quiet about the family enriching themselves in exchange for favors anymore. This from today’s NY Times:
Screen shot reads, “He also said the hotel project could curry favor with the Trump administration at a time Serbia is trying to maintain relations both with Moscow and the West. Mr. Trump has imposed a 35 percent tariff on Serbian imports, and American sanctions have hampered a Russian-owned company that is Serbia’s main oil supplier, as well as some of Mr. Vucic’s allies.”

This is from Heather Cox Richardson last night. While it’s not the worst thing Vought is doing, it shows exactly how he works—just keep twisting that knife. He is a psychopath.
Heather Cox Richardson describes how Russell Vought, as current director of the CFPB, published a rule yesterday to ensure states cannot keep medical debt off credit reports as Medicaid and ACA premium support is being cut.

Heading out to our parade with my mom who is 80. Her dad flew in the Pacific during WWII. This is the shirt she made.
The shirt says “Gran Tifa: supporting democracy since before you were born.”

According to NYT, this was Machado’s reaction. This is how someone who *deserves* it thinks. Meanwhile, Stephen Cheung has already responded with pettiness, saying the Nobel committee put politics over peace. Sheesh.
María Corina Machado, winner of the Nobel peace prize, said “This is an achievement of a whole society. I am just, you know, one person. I certainly do not deserve this.”

When I first glanced at this headline in the NYT, I read it as “Demonic” agenda. Ha!
A headline in the New York Times says, “House GOP tries to get president’s domestic agenda to a final vote.”

Why does this matter? The pope is not in the US government and Trump is not Catholic. How will there be friction unless these loud mouths cause it? Hey, MAGA Catholics (looking at you, JD), maybe God wants you to listen to the pope more than Trump. Gift article in the comments.

I didn’t think our representation could get any worse. Yep, it can. We need a really strong Democratic candidate.
Ken Paxton may run against John Cornyn in Texas. I didn’t think it could get worse than Cruz and Cornyn, but I was wrong. We need a strong Democrat in this race.

This paragraph from the NYT story caught my eye. The NIH is too focused on infectious disease?? That’s like the fire department does lots of things, but you know, I think they are just too focused on putting out house fires.

Cruz and Cornyn are my senators. They don’t even pretend to work for constituents. On social media, Cornyn mocked protesters (aka constituents) outside his office. Since our Congress members won’t have a town hall,Tim and Beto are hosting near Houston tomorrow!
Tim Walz and Beto O’Rourke are hosting a town hall in Rosenberg, TX, near Houston on Thursday, March 27, 6:00 pm.

Oh, I’ll bet Graham wishes now that he could take back those words. I only went to the damn gym, and in that 2 hours, look what Trump and Vance did. There is no telling what tantrums the rest of the day may hold.

I saw someone else post this. I think it explains a lot of the current inaction. When I saw I had to enter my email before I could post, I started to cancel because I don’t feel like sharing identifiable information right now. Then I realized that feeling is exactly why it needs to be reposted.
