Leafly @leafly.website · 04/07/2026Devlog, stardate: 20260604 Okay a lil update. Most of the major UI decisions have been made. Few little things left. Progress has slowed down a lot. Partly because of burnout, partly because I had some actual paid work to do. Hopefully progress can resume next week! 000
Leafly @leafly.website · 15/06/2026The leafly.website landing page has been updated with more info about the site! There's a little demo entry there where you can try out the privacy toggles and see what they do!leafly.websiteLeafly - Coming soonA place to connect and reflect. Coming soon. 011
Leafly @leafly.website · 15/06/2026Preview your entries before you save them! I've added a feature where you can see what your entry will look like once is saved. View what it will look like to you, your friends, and your Greenlist. Tweak the privacy toggles until your happy, and then hit save! 020
Leafly @leafly.website · 14/06/2026Since starting to build Leafly, I've been surprised by how many tiny decisions I've had to make. Most recent of these: Pages, show more button, or infinite scrolling? So insignificant to the UX, but I still feel the need to weigh all the pros and cons of each option. Shit's hard. 010
Leafly @leafly.website · 12/06/2026Still plugging away! Working on the Settings page UI right now. The site is starting to take shape. (None of the backend work is done yet, which is where things will get tricky. But let's not think about that.) 110
Leafly @leafly.website · 10/06/2026After some more tweaking, we're in a much better place with the Friends page! 020
Leafly @leafly.website · 09/06/2026Prototype UI for the "Friends" page! Anything you think I should add? Think I've forgotten something obvious? Want to give me your thoughts? Let me know! 220
Leafly @leafly.website · 06/06/2026Been a while! I got a bit overwhelmed with the size of the project, but I'm feeling excited again, and I'm happy to say I'm back working on it! I feel quietly confident that I'll get a working version of Leafly up and running before I run out of steam this time :) 010
Leafly @leafly.website · 25/10/2025My intention is for Leafly to be an intimate, thoughtful place for people to not only undersatand themselves better, but eachother too. If you have any questions about the platform, feel free to let me know and I'll get back to you as soon as I can! 000
Leafly @leafly.website · 25/10/2025You may have seen that there are "comments" and "likes" in the UI preview I posted earlier today. I'm still split on this idea. If these engagement mechanics are going to be a part of Leafly, they will definitely be optional per entry, in the same way that every other part of an entry is optional. 100
Leafly @leafly.website · 25/10/2025Adding someone as a friend is a two way street, you can see the parts of their entries that they have made visible to friends, but equally they can see yours. 100
Leafly @leafly.website · 25/10/2025What leafly is not, is just another social networking site where you can stalk whoever you want. I have designed Leafly in a way that discourages "Leafly Celebrities" and doomscrolling. 100
Leafly @leafly.website · 25/10/2025Leafly will also be End To End Encrypted. This means that even I will not be able to see your posts. According to the server, it'll be a bunch of random characters. Entries are deeply personal, and I have negative interest in any project that would have any kind of "back door" into this data. 100
Leafly @leafly.website · 25/10/2025Want to keep the body text of today's entry private? Tick that box, and then to your friends, it will look like you never included any body text at all. You have full control over who sees what parts of your entries. 100
Leafly @leafly.website · 25/10/2025Third, and most importantly of all, Leafly is private. Every entry you make will be modular, meaning you can share anything from no parts, to every part of it with people on your friends list. 100
Leafly @leafly.website · 25/10/2025Second of all, Leafly is social. You will have the ability to add friends, who will then be able to see not only when you have made an entry, but also whatever part of that entry you have decided to share with them - more on this below. 200
Leafly @leafly.website · 25/10/2025First and foremost: Leafly is your journal. Document your thoughts and life for reflection at a later date. Pretty simple. 100
Leafly @leafly.website · 25/10/2025Now that I've shown off the UI, I think I should explain what Leafly will actually be! 🧵 110
Leafly @leafly.website · 25/10/2025First version of the homepage UI is coded! (none of the buttons do anything yet, but we don't need to talk about that) 000
