To win offices. It may be the end goal to move things to a more Mamdani style of policy (I'm not quite as far left, but I overall like him), but you need to win over voters in districts/states/cities that are very red and purple before there's a palate for someone like Mamdani.

That's not the point of what's being said. Mamdani himself said that you need a variety of Democrat candidates to win in different states and that his brand wouldn't work (to win) everywhere. The Mamdani/DNC brand of Democrat only really win in districts that are already incredibly blue.

Broadly Dave's position does little to argue for an actual solution other than apparently the dissolution/destruction of Israel. He paints Israel and it's civilians as a unified evil, with the worst examples of extremists; while the Palestinians are children who are justified in an act or belief.

That clip of "pro-genocide" is not only cut short of his more serious description and prescription, but Dave interprets it in bad faith. It was before Oct 7th and when he started to actually research the history and conflict, but he was saying that it seems like a sad and nigh unsolvable situation.

The main thing that makes me a bit sympathetic to the situation, is that there are a lot of real cases of people that get a disease and because they were motivated to find a cure they actually did find a way to treat or prevent the condition in ways that helped everyone else as well.
