I mean, it’s hard to see how anything less than expelling City from the League isn’t just letting them off. And if they are let them off, might as well softball it. Expecting 15 point deduction and low 10s millions fine. It sets president though. Why would a club with deep pockets not cheat now?

I feel like the debate about benefits for pensioners is skirting the real issue - inheritance. It’s true many “millionaire” pensioners are asset rich and cash poor. Theres a solution to that: sell the house and live off the equity released. Why is that unpopular? People really want inheritance.

The thing that seems incongruous to me is how we accept both the triple lock and opposition to end of life taxes. If someone has accrued such wealth that they are vexed by inheritance tax, they don’t need generous public financial support. Public money shouldn’t be funding inherited wealth.

Maybe don’t boycott small businesses for using AI to make their graphic design “better”. They’re just trying to keep afloat. Your local fish & chip shop is not the enemy. I guarantee that while you’re boycotting a local business, every platform you use online day to day is using gen AI.

So … does postal delivery still basically work elsewhere or is it fucked everywhere? I pretty much assume anything bigger than a letter will be left on the roadside, without knocking, in full view, and marked as delivered. I now ask people not to send me things because I won’t receive them.

Why do people think “influencer” isn’t a job? Imo it is. It does what it says on the tin. These are people whose job it is to influence you. Influence you to buy things. Thats what they’re paid for. Thats their job. It’s just sales. They might as well be cold calling.

17 years ago I met up with @ealingsam.bsky.social in a pub on Canal St and it changed my life. 10 years ago today he became my husband. Over the years we’ve moved, we’ve grown as people, a lot has changed. The one thing that hasn’t changed is that we’re enjoying this journey together.

I’m signed up for a half marathon in 2 months. The furthest I’ve run in the last 5 years is 5km and that takes anywhere between 32-40 minutes depending on conditions. Runners: what tips can you give to an out of shape (fat) beginner runner to prep for half marathon?
