Its also really difficult to disengage once they have it. I mistakenly gave my email to two stores the first year we lived there, and for the life of me I cannot in the very least unsubscribe from their email lists.

Hope her first and immediate response is that the President and the entire board need to resign their positions.

I don’t mind him being here, he’s a chill boy but I’m super paranoid about my landlord finding out he’s here because they are very adamant about no pets

I walk a friends dog a few times a week. Today I went and picked him up, when I got back they weren’t home (my friends partner works from home). I don’t have a key, they buzz me in. So now two hours later I still have a dog. We’re just hanging out until someone gets home

Is there going to be some time in the near future when Americans actually wake up and stop calling it dementia or he’s lost his mind and realize he knows what he is doing and is dangerous and calling for the death of Americans who oppose him? Or no? Just going to continue to let it slide?

Hate is gonna win. They have been vocal about repealing initiatives for LGBTQ++ and some of their people have made racist statements about indigenous and immigrants. Quebec just saw hate win out. People would rather against what they hate than what will be positive for them

So 28% of people are going to screw all of us over and squash the high speed rail project Alto. The new Quebec Govt said they don’t support it

What exactly is overbearing about Ottawa, is all that money they keep throwing at oil infrastructure, the thing they have been whining for for decades, that's overbearing.

We need to get rid of this first past the post nonsense in Canada. 28% of the electorate are going to try to break up the country at a time when that is not appropriate to even be considering. The US is going to jump all over this shit now.

Quebec what is wrong with you? Now is not the time for this separatist BS

so craziness at VGH right now, there are at least two helicopters hovering waiting to land. I have a view of the hospital out my front window. I've never seen a waiting line before.

I don’t care where you started out on the political spectrum If your kid comes out as trans & you don’t become a rainbow-clad, parade-cheering ally & rock-solid supportive girl/boy/enby dad/mom? You were never a parent at all You were a doll collector furious they didn’t stay in their packaging.

I have a tonne of schoolwork to do and I cannot focus. Going to the library is a total disaster for me. I have issues focusing (I probably have undiagnosed adhd) I cannot focus when there are people around, I just end up people watching.

This is what happens when the executive are all political appointees. Just look at what the CEO's experience is. He has none. Is experience is as a political appointee.

No one really believes this right? Its crazy how so many people allegedly commit suicide with regard to this case, and how many people fall down stairs and out windows.

So at what point in time do we start expecting the RCMP to start laying charges related to this. Its not high treason but I'm pretty sure a savvy lawyer could argue treason.

There are days when I absolutely love living in a condo apartment, and then there are days when I don't. Today is one of the don't days. Tomorrow I'm sure it will go back to one of the love days.

unfortunately this is in Canada. We also have gross people

LBP @ldbp.bsky.social · 04/10/2026
Yes at the table. We were at Kinton Ramen. Not even sure why they had to floss. But it was gross.

LBP @ldbp.bsky.social · 04/10/2026
The older daughter also had one but she didn’t go full on in like the parents. They also got up and I assume went to the bathroom after they were done flossing. They could have just gone to the bathroom to floss

Yes the Mom and Dad pulled out the little flossing pick things and proceeded to floss all of their teeth for about five minutes. Totally disgusting

I am out for supper and the table next to us just finished and the 3 people pulled out dental floss and are now flossing their teeth. WTF? Don’t do this. It’s gross

I was just saying this to my husband. I had to use it as part of a weekly class discussion for a course I am taking. I needed to use it to identify species of trees. It did an awful job. I had to use 3 different ones before I finally got a correct answer. Its awful.

Canada is not actually 'battling for survival' in the context of secession, because in both Alberta and Quebec secession has relatively small amounts of public support. What we're battling is dipshit far-right populist politicians enabling/pushing for this destructive bullshit.

Because I’m re-watching X-Files my husband has decided he has to subject me to watching Miami Vice. These are not the same. Miami Vice is so bad, just so very bad like every aspect of it.

It’s the same in Vancouver. The crappy run down 1939’s bungalow that hasn’t had one renovation is now $3.5 mil instead of $4.

Thank god I have a very understanding and patient professor this semester. He is a lovely guy who just wants people to perform at their best in his class. This morning he answered one of my many questions in such a way that I feel like I can just breathe a huge sigh of relief now.

I’m such a bad student. Not in terms of completing assignments, learning material and performing on tests poorly kind of way, but I panic over assignments and worry that I’m not doing them correctly or that my subject matter has been chosen poorly. I get very antsy and ask a lot of questions

Every year in September we also get a notice of rent increase for whatever the proscribed provincial amount is. Has happened for five years. This year we didn’t get one. This makes me believe they are lying about the appraisal.

About a month ago we got a notice that our property was getting appraised. We asked questions and they assured us they were not doing the appraisal for sale purposes but for valuation of the estate in which it is held

It’s not a good balance. If he didn’t spend money on an industry that is going to eventually destroy the earth we wouldn’t have to spend money on ineffectual “protections”.

LBP @ldbp.bsky.social · 01/10/2026
Not possible. Fossil fuels will kill us all. You’re actively throwing good money after bad. You wouldn’t have to spend money on protections if you didn’t continue to prop up the fossil fuel industry

This is just another gift to an oil industry already on track to make $100 billion in wartime profits this year alone. We pay, we take on the risk, and they reap the rewards.

Throwing billions in public money behind a pipeline at a time of climate breakdown – while sweeping aside environmental protections, meaningful Indigenous consultation and workers’ right to strike – is absolutely not in the national interest.

thinking back on this it was so bizarre, but it also seeing the rhetoric around continuing to support oil extraction and oil related infrastructure just makes me think its all cult like behaviour. They indoctrinate you young. It also explains why so many Albertans can't see the harm.

I remember him showing up with a slide show talking about how fun it was to drive the huge trucks, and and showing us how cool the black sand was, and then at the end of his little talk he handed out some goodies for the whole class. We each got a little bag of tar covered sand to proudly keep.....

Thinking about growing up in AB and how oil extraction is shoved down your throats as being the end all be all from a very early age. I can remember in grade 3 when my teachers boyfriend, who worked for Syncrude showed up in our classroom to talk to us about the virtues of the oil sands......

Seeing news that flu season is starting early in North America, and vaccines aren't available yet. Cool. I'm just gonna stay locked up in my condo. Anecdotally last week on my flight from TO to Van, half the plane was coughing up a lung. Its a miracle I'm not sick already

The do your own research crowd are never equipped to understand what is a "good" source vs a "bad" source, they just believe everything is equal in terms of sourcing information. They also aren't educated enough to understand what is discussed and published in reliable "good" sources of information

LBP @ldbp.bsky.social · 30/09/2026
I think he is referring to the Alberta NDP, not the federal party. Of course the AB party is pushing pipelines. AB can't do anything other than O&G.

And killing the environment not so slowly. Why are we not investing in new technologies and industry in Canada that are working towards sustainable energy sources. We could lead the world.
