Pity the nation — oh, pity the people who allow their rights to erode and their freedoms to be washed away. My country, tears of thee, sweet land of liberty. ― Lawrence Ferlinghetti (1919-2021), 2007 DEMOCRACY DIES IN IGNORANCE

Trump's Admin might be looking to change the provisions of the EAC Voting System Testing and Certification Program Manual. Which could then change the conclusions of the testing laboratory, and what constitutes evidence of fraud so it won't be reported.

You mean, Big Business like Trump, et. al., makes billions of legal US Dollars by selling make-believe crypto money to suckers who lost big -- Which should certainly factor into how much of the ill-gotten gains in US dollars is big business now spending on buying our elections outright.

The van ended up swerving up onto the sidewalk, unable to move forward, with a large sign and telephone pole in front of his undamaged vehicle.

I agree. I don't care what that block text says they are, I want their badge numbers, names, and faces. Otherwise, I'll do my best to kick them in the groin, and gouge their eyes out.

No, not exactly. Congress has used some of their enforcement mechanisms, and the bill itself IS enforcement. Republicans are deign to use all of their enforcement mechanisms to remove corrupt actors in this administration. The Epstein Act passed, Dems didn't kill this bill. Facts.

Very difficult to "ram" officers in front of this vehicle. i.ytimg.com/vi/CrQSnc9qo... www.youtube.com/watch?v=CrQS...
The white van is blocked by a sign to the left and a telephone pole to the right. If anything the van swerved to get out of the way, and ended up on the sidewalk.

Enforcement mechanisms available are- subpoenas, hearings, power of the purse, contempt of Congress, impeachment, legislation, oversight. This legislation requires that the DOJ play ball re Epstein files. A reminder to you, that Democrats are NOT in charge of the House or Senate.

For those who might say 'why bother to sue, "transparency" isn't going to get the files released' - that may be true. However, it would be giving in to remain silent, ignoring the lies and lack of transparency by Trump's Administration writ large, is not how to save democracy. Pushing back is.

Another Republican running for office who tells verifiable lies to the public to get elected. Down the line, people who lie to get elected could become President of the United States and damage the USA and democracy which would affect ALL of us. We need a law. bsky.app/profile/weis...

What does Janet Mills and the 41,644 who voted for her have to say? She had withdrawn, but she was still on the ballot. What about the David Costello w/ about 17,000 votes and Andrea LaFlamme with about 700?

The main point is that in the US Supreme Court, Justice Roberts wrote an opinion in which he himself is outright gaslighting the public - without the slightest bit of shame for lying about what the Constitution says. FYI: Lunatics aren't smart enough to engineer a dictatorship, voters did it.

Well, "we" can protest. But those who lost big-time after buying into the "currency" hype, are the "we" that made the rich even richer. Even after losing some, most, or all of their money, they still don't see what there is to protest about. Changing the government's majority will address it.

The more the Trump Administration stiffs and grifts the taxpayers, the more pure disgust I feel towards those voters who believed the Republicans in the Trump administration. Continuing to vote for robber barons that are bankrupting the United States and worse, is absolutely appalling.

Gov. Hochul refused to let Dr. Margaret Carpenter be extradicted to Louisiana and a court agreed. However, that outcome begs the question -- What happens to Dr. Carpenter if she visits any other state that would extradite her in a heartbeat? That would restrict her liberty. This needs resolution.

If there are any persons in Fulton County who might possess information or opinions in support of his [Trump's] claim that the 2020 Election was not legitimate - - - I'm pretty sure they would have come forward by now with proof of illegitimacy.

So, Trump has "25 days within which to ask the Court to reconsider." Could you elaborate as to "there are lots of reasons why a justice who voted to deny certiorari might change their mind"? Which judge, and why? To reduce the amount a the jury set, or to throw out the jury's verdict, or both? Ummm.

The Republicans are going to drag this out past the midterms, because they are looking poised to keep the Senate right now. However, if a subset of voters get tired of Republican BS (they aren't yet), we may get closer to that long-shot possibility for Dem's to get the supermajority they need.

There has not been much the Democrats in Congress could do to fight back against the power that Republicans in Congress have. Those letters provide documentation that would be needed should Democrats get a supermajority in Congress at some point - to impeach, convict, change Scotus and the laws.

lbroom.bsky.social @lbroom.bsky.social · 07/07/2026
In order for Democrats in Congress to fight, voters need to give them the (super)majority they need to accomplish that goal. The US Supreme Court since Reagan has given the Mandate for Leadership's fascistic Republicans- ammunition to fire. Obama, Biden & Garland dropped unplayed balls, too meek.

What needs stressing is that we need to vote in a supermajority for Congress. So, not voting for Democrats in the primaries, and not voting for Democrats November - means we won't get rid of Trump, Vance, or the Supreme Court's conservatives. A supermajority CAN rid us of the problem.

Indivisible states that quote "But since the Democratic Party brand is so toxic right now" - is a DELIBERATE self-fulfilling prophecy. Unfortunately, that subtle gaslighting will be believed by many. Democrats have the power to change everything with a SUPERMAJORITY in Congress. Vote wisely.

The "unity" comes at the ballot box - Vote Democratic to put in a supermajority of Dem's with enough votes to right the ship of state. With that, we say goodbye to Trump, Vance, and Speaker Johnson - and Hello to a Dem President, and a Scotus makeover, and laws with teeth.

The fight is over if you aren't arguing. Fielding a candidate that won't turn into a 'fedderman' if elected, and, that can win against entrenched Republicans, that voters have trusted and reelected over and over - is worth arguing over if getting rid of fascist authoritarians it the goal.

It's a ruling that SCOTUS punted to the Republicans in Congress for them to take action on. They can write legislation to modify the 14th Amendment, possibly requiring residency requirements and legal status for births on US soil. Like births to Diplomats, tourist births wouldn't count either.

Birthright will be gone unless Democrats get supermajority in Congress to impeach & convict both Trump & Vance, swear in the Democratic Speaker as President - then impeach & convict some SC Justices- then change/create laws. We need a SUPERMAJORITY in Congress - SO VOTE in Nov.

lbroom.bsky.social @lbroom.bsky.social · 01/07/2026
It cannot pass until Democrats get the majority in both chambers. Even if some Senators with nothing to lose vote for it, the current Republican majority in the House isn't going to give an inch to pass this -- let alone bring it to the floor for a vote. Vote Republicans OUT in Nov.

It should be noted that Trump isn't paying the bills. If a doctor and/or hospital isn't getting reimbursed, they will begin to drop Medicare patients. Trump must want old people to die sooner. If you denied lower cost treatment, patients will seek emergency treatment at increased expense.

Some states balked at being denied access to the recent illegally modified SAVE database, which enabled bulk searches from the Social Security Admin. "It flagged thousands of voters as potential noncitizens . . .". Many were citizens eligible to vote, & compromised SSN data on all citizens.

There are six on the court who don't understand that they too are expendable when Trump (or his masters) say they are. It's just a matter of when and who. A Democratic Supermajority in the US Congress can get rid of Trump, Vance, and the stacked court without interference- and fortify our laws.

That you were shocked only means that four members of the court have been closeted far-right nativists all their lives, and sitting on a shadow-docketed bench. I believed them the first time they shocked me in 2000's 5-4 hanging chad decision, and mildly in 2010 with corporations = human beings.

If they are going to retire now, it's because they might be fearing a supermajority of Democrats in Congress will both impeach and convict Trump & Vance, then will change the number of justices on the court, or impeach and convict them too. Then change a whole bunch of laws :) So, vote.

They had to rule this way. If they hadn't ruled for birthright if born in the USA, then if we were lucky enough to have a Democratic Admin, I'd be advocating that Melania be deported back to the then-communist country she was born in and take Trump and Barron with her.

It only favors the party who launders money from foreigners, through transactions that appear to be legitimate, but aren't. It doesn't help that there are, by far, more rich republicans who launder money, than there are rich democrats doing the same.

The "establishment" doesn't need to be abolished, but authoritarianism does. The "establishment" needs improving, but demanding absolute solidarity is not the way to go about it. Indivisible, the word, describes the Nation against malign foreign influence, not against some US citizens!

She'll get the $5.5 million Trump put into the court's escrow account to pay the 2022 judgment, as Scotus refused to hear another peep out of him. The separate $83.million, is waiting on Trump to appeal. Maybe SCOTUS will throw him a juicy bone to keep him safe from having his assets seized.
