This graphic from @boycottcitizens.bsky.social explains how this fits into ICE's larger plans for a bounty hunting system to track down immigrants.
An infographic titled “Paid to Pursue: ICE’s Plan to Turn Private Contractors and Local Law Enforcement Into a Vast Bounty-Hunting Network.” It explains how ICE aims to expand deportation efforts by using private firms and local police.

ICE Collects Personal Data: ICE accesses large amounts of personal data from government agencies and data brokers such as Thomson Reuters and LexisNexis, along with surveillance tools like facial recognition and social media monitoring.

ICE Creates Profiles: Using a Palantir-built case management system, ICE turns this data into detailed AI-driven profiles, including visa status, physical characteristics, and information from license plate readers.

Private Contractors Track Immigrants: ICE gives private firms lists of 50,000 immigrants at a time to verify their locations through skip tracing. Contractors access ICE’s case system, ImmigrationOS, to locate up to 1.5 million people, earning base pay per verified address plus bonuses for speed and accuracy.

ICE Gives Target Lists to Local Law Enforcement: ICE shares verified target lists with hundreds of state and local agencies through its 287(g) program, which deputizes local officers to enforce federal immigration laws. DHS offers bonuses of up to $1,000 per officer for successful identifications.

At the bottom, a section titled “The 287(g) Program” explains that the program authorizes local officers to identify, arrest, and process individuals for deportation. It notes that the number of 287(g) agreements grew sharply during the Trump administration and that critics warn these partnerships promote racial profiling and harm community trust. The graphic concludes that fighting the spread of 287(g) agreements is one of the most important ways to help keep communities safe.

I hadn't looked at voting by religious affiliation but yes! Surprised Pew didn't have data on Jewish voters for the previous two elections here, too, but Harris +28 is a hell of a margin.
Religious groups voted along familiar lines in 2024, even as Trump gained among Protestants, Catholics, and those who reported attending religious services on at least a monthly basis.

I'm inclined to agree with you, but do wonder whether a "Trump bad" focus can do anything to help rehabilitate the Democratic Party's reputation with voters. Seems to me that focusing on values (not policy specifics) and offering a positive vision for restoring the American dream is key.

Dudes like this always have a self-published autobiography. Always.
Mellon's self-published 2015 autobiography describes his political views.[38][39] Notably, it calls social safety net programs "Slavery Redux", asserting that its beneficiaries are beholden to "a new master, Uncle Sam". Mellon writes:
For delivering their votes in the Federal Elections, they are awarded with yet more and more freebies: food stamps, cellphones, WIC [the U.S. Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children] payments, Obamacare, and on, and on, and on. The largess is funded by the hardworking folks, fewer and fewer in number, who are too honest or too proud to allow themselves to sink into this morass.

He's not wrong. Sure seems like they're planning to bust down a LOT of doors.
Bar chart titled “U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Spending on Weapons and Ammunition.” The x-axis shows years from 2016 to 2025, and the y-axis shows total spending in U.S. dollars, ranging from 0 to 30 million. The chart displays frequent smaller spikes throughout the decade, typically under $10 million, with occasional peaks around 2017, 2020, and 2022. In 2025, spending rises dramatically to over $30 million—the highest level in the period shown. A note below explains that totals are based on Product or Service Codes for weapons, ammunition, explosives, and weapon system hardware, excluding spending on armor, tactical kits, or training aids. The source is USAspending, and the chart was created by BoycottCitizens.org using Datawrapper.

This is an adaptation of a tool often used to help people understand the patterns of behaviors that comprise abusive relationships. At its core, this is a regime of abusers.
A “Power and Control” wheel illustrating forms of workplace abuse. The center circle reads “POWER and CONTROL.” Surrounding it are eight labeled sections describing different abusive tactics:

Using Coercion & Threats – Threatening or carrying out harm, making work unreasonably difficult, forcing unsafe or illegal tasks, or using sexual innuendo.

Using Intimidation – Making workers feel afraid through looks, actions, gestures, smashing things, or destroying property.

Using Emotional Abuse – Putting workers down, name-calling, humiliation, guilt, or making them doubt their sanity.

Using Isolation – Controlling who workers talk to or work with, withholding information, or segregating them physically or socially.

Minimizing, Denying, & Blaming – Making light of abuse, denying it happened, shifting responsibility, or blaming workers.

Using Others – Threatening layoffs, using coworkers to relay messages, ignoring complaints, or failing to address harm from others.

Using Employer Privilege – Acting authoritarian, excluding input, writing unfair reviews, or creating inequitable conditions.

Using Economic Abuse – Threatening to terminate or reduce pay, forcing unpaid work, inequitable pay, or damaging reputation.

The outer ring labels “Physical” and “Sexual” on opposite sides, framing the entire wheel under the heading “ABUSE.”

This is an adaptation of a framework that was originally developed to depict common patterns in domestic abuse (the Power & Control Wheel). It's all about control.
A diagram titled Power & Control depicts how authoritarian regimes maintain dominance, using a layout of eight circles arranged around the central title. The central graphic shows a silhouette of a head beneath a hand manipulating puppet strings. Each surrounding circle contains a tactic with examples:

Using Economic Abuse: Arbitrary tariffs, baseless lawsuits, cutting off funding, refusing to make payments owed, withholding aid, punishing dissenters with regulations, targeting labor movements.

Using Coercion & Threats: Threats of economic harm, investigations, litigation, exile, imprisonment, violence, or death; making examples of dissidents.

Using Intimidation: Deploying law enforcement, military, or paramilitary groups; public raids, arrests, beatings; cheering violence against the out-group.

Using Psychological Abuse: Disinformation, propaganda, name-calling, gaslighting, portraying dissenters as crazy or traitorous, “flooding the zone,” calling news fake, attacking the press to erode truth.

Using Isolation: Sowing distrust, us-versus-them mentality, surveillance and controlled communication, scapegoating, encouraging people to report on each other.

Minimizing, Denying, & Blaming: Lying about abuses, denying wrongdoing, shifting blame to victims, dehumanizing others, justifying violence as needed to restore order.

Using Children: Framing oppressive policies as child protection or family preservation, indoctrinating youth, controlling education, firing dissenting educators.

Using Privilege: Elevating the in-group as “real” citizens, enforcing misogyny, white supremacy, and rigid gender roles, justifying oppression as natural through pseudoscience or religion.

Using Intimidation – making her afraid with looks, actions, smashing things, destroying property, abusing pets, displaying weapons.

Using Emotional Abuse – putting her down, name-calling, making her feel guilty, humiliating her, playing mind games, making her think she’s crazy.

Using Isolation – controlling what she does, who she sees and talks to, limiting outside involvement, using jealousy to justify actions.

Minimizing, Denying, and Blaming – making light of abuse, not taking concerns seriously, denying abuse, shifting blame, saying she caused it.

Using Children – making her feel guilty about children, using children to relay messages, using visitation to harass, threatening to take them away.

Using Male Privilege – treating her like a servant, making all big decisions, acting like “master of the castle,” defining men’s and women’s roles.

Using Economic Abuse – preventing her from working, making her ask for money, giving allowance, taking money, hiding or controlling family income.

Some passage or other from this book feels all too relevant at least once a week.
Screenshot of book excerpt: And one day, too late, your principles, if you were ever sensible of them, all rush in upon you. The burden of self-deception has grown too heavy, and some minor incident, in my case my little boy, hardly more than a baby, saying ‘Jewish swine,’ collapses it all at once, and you see that everything, everything, has changed and changed completely under your nose. The world you live in—your nation, your people—is not the world you were born in at all. The forms are all there, all untouched, all reassuring, the houses, the shops, the jobs, the mealtimes, the visits, the concerts, the cinema, the holidays. But the spirit, which you never noticed because you made the lifelong mistake of identifying it with the forms, is changed. Now you live in a world of hate and fear, and the people who hate and fear do not even know it themselves; when everyone is transformed, no one is transformed. Now you live in a system which rules without responsibility even to God. The system itself could not have intended this in the beginning, but in order to sustain itself it was compelled to go all the way.”

Ok, so lots of those were just people being mean to them. But aspiring Nazis have feelings too, and we should be very careful not to hurt them. They put on their skinny jeans one leg at a time just like the rest of us, before they head off for a long day of kidnapping.
His administration has also been quick to place blame on leftist groups in the immediate aftermath of recent attacks, mirroring finger pointing and misinformation shared from all sides on social media. A Sept. 8 press release from DHS claimed without evidence that ICE officers “are facing a more than 1000% increase in assaults against them.”

Yet, the fact patterns that have emerged in several cases prove more complicated. A Washington Post review of 79 assaults on ICE officers between January and June found that “the vast majority involve verbal threats — in person or online — or physical altercations during ICE arrests of immigrants that turned violent.”
