FurAffinity (a furry focused online art gallery) is looking for funding after refusing to comply with advertiser demands. And oh boy are some of those advertiser demands pretty ridiculous. (alt text added)

A post from a FurAffinity developer blog which says:

What makes this situation frustrating is that the bar for what advertisers consider "adult content" is very very low. For example they consider plus size characters, two characters hugging, and "barbie doll nudity" to be adult content, despite these being normal everyday things that are not adult at all. This is why you may see other sites with restrictions on how characters cant be posed or dressed "too provocatively."

We receive a daily list of items that they have flagged as violations and have to sort through them. If they're legitimate violations, we re-rate them. If they aren't, we don't touch them. Submissions that are not violations of our policies are still held against us.

We have had many email conversations, Zoom calls, and even an in-person meeting with representatives to help resolve this to no avail.

This has never been more potent than this early AI era, so I will state it clearly yet again; YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE TECHNICALLY SKILLED AT DRAWING TO MAKE AMAZING, MEMORABLE ART JUST MAKE STUFF YOU COWARDS, DRAW, DRAW RIGHT FUCKIN NOW

"Misinformation" is an incorrect term, here: someone involved with the Avatar movie used AI for cultural consultation/research or marketing copy text, and it's not unfair for folks to write the whole thing off accordingly. Was it a department head or exec, giving notes? Was it someone in marketing?

it is really important to be loud about this stuff because it's typically kept very quiet to enable people to go "See? Nothing happened, it was just people being dramatic"

The Swarm's relentless attacks have resulted in many casualties for all sides, especially their own. This is by design, as with enough fallen soldiers the true nature of the Swarm can be unleashed. #verminfightclub #monsterdesign

I can’t remember the last time I saw an actual video game ad on youtube, it’s ALL fake-anime AI slop or the same tired adbloated mobile games that’ve been suckering people for like a decade now.

I've said this before but drives me nuts that being a "huge success" in comics, especially indie comics, is just making a sustainable living off your work. They make billion dollar movies off creators that can't pay medical bills. We have to collectively demand far more than what we're offered.
