Have you tried sending a message to the artist to check if they are still around? They have to click the release button for the pre-release that they setup.

Things have slowed down a lot compared to how it was a year ago, but its still fairly active

LazerCat619 @lazercat.bsky.social · 02/10/2026

That sort of thing can be done by a browser extension. There are also extensions that add volume controls to Bandcamp album pages.

Since you didn't ask for any genres in particular I'll just drop a recommendation for a Cumbia/Downtempo album that I was listening to recently. elbuho.bandcamp.com/album/hogar

It doesn't happen automatically, the artists has to manually release it, and sometimes the date they forget or run into delays during the production process.

That is what custom feeds are for, you could create one that only shows you posts that include the keywords you are interested in while also filtering out the other ones based on rules you can define.

It was a good concept but they made it too expensive, there are many music labels on Bandcamp offering similar subscription plans but for half the price or less.

LazerCat619 @lazercat.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

Yes, if you buy something during that event they will receive the full amount after a couple days.

010

LazerCat619 @lazercat.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

Payouts usually take 24-48 hours, though some artists opt to get paid once per month instead.

As far as I am aware the buy discography option only appears on the album's web page.

I think that is because any time one adds an album to their collection they will automatically follow the artist who made it even if they were not interested in receiving updates from them. The volume of messages posted by artists can feel overwhelming sometimes, specially around Bandcamp Fridays'.

110

LazerCat619 @lazercat.bsky.social · 02/09/2026

If possible, it would be nice to include links to where those albums are available to buy or stream.

LazerCat619 @lazercat.bsky.social · 21/08/2026

Have you checked out Bandcamp Radio? They have about 50 playlists focusing on different styles of music and each playlist is around 1-2 hours long. You may also like this other tool, it generates a random playlist based on the music in other user's collections. bcradio.muskratworks.com

LazerCat619 @lazercat.bsky.social · 20/08/2026

They might not be aware that they can also change the track prices, or that letting people buy individual tracks is something that is enabled by default.

010

LazerCat619 @lazercat.bsky.social · 19/08/2026

Its not visible because its a free download, when browsing an artist's page in the Bandcamp app it will not display any albums that cannot be purchased.

100

LazerCat619 @lazercat.bsky.social · 15/08/2026

A few of them do have a distinctive style in terms of sound and album cover designs, like Known artiste and Magnum innominandum

110

LazerCat619 @lazercat.bsky.social · 14/08/2026

Use the "Report this album or account" link near the bottom of the album page. I've reported like ten of those and all them were taken down a few days later.

Its up to each artist to enable the option to let people buy their whole discography at discount. If there is one that you are looking to get you should try sending a message about that to the person who owns that artist account.

100

LazerCat619 @lazercat.bsky.social · 14/08/2026

Its not on every Friday, they only do that event around 6 times per year, the next one is on Sept 4 isitbandcampfriday.com

110

LazerCat619 @lazercat.bsky.social · 13/08/2026

I am fairly sure that is normal user behavior. When a new artist/label catches my attention I'll skim through their albums and I sometimes start from their oldest release. Most of the time I'll only listen to a few seconds per track so that gets counted as a "skip" in the stats page.

020

LazerCat619 @lazercat.bsky.social · 13/08/2026

Bandcamp is free to use, doesn't have upload limits, and if you are not interested in selling items you can set their price to $0.

121

LazerCat619 @lazercat.bsky.social · 10/08/2026

A while ago I saw that same message on another community post by an artist I am following, It seems that user has started going around and using that to spam ads for their review blog, I hope they get banned soon.

010

LazerCat619 @lazercat.bsky.social · 08/08/2026

I had that same issue so I signed up for email notifications and then setup an email rule that automatically deleted all messages where the subject starts with "New items from ..."

010

LazerCat619 @lazercat.bsky.social · 08/08/2026

I am not sure what the issue might be, this worked fine for me on a Firefox browser. You could you try opening the album page on a private browser window and doing the checkout process out again.

100

LazerCat619 @lazercat.bsky.social · 08/08/2026

I was able to pay for a few items using Paypal a while ago. Maybe it wasn't an option for your because the artist lives in a country that Paypal doesn't support.

I think Bandcamp Fridays are too deeply entrenched by this point so its unlikely that they will stop doing them any time soon, but I hope that they will try a wider variety of events like the fundraiser they did for those affected by the California wildfires last year

010

LazerCat619 @lazercat.bsky.social · 07/08/2026

I recommend buying yourself a BC gift card and using that to pay for your items, it also saves time during checkout since you won't have to approve each transaction one by one

010

LazerCat619 @lazercat.bsky.social · 07/08/2026

Its better to start promoting it the day before, way too many artists wait until Friday morning to post their promo messages and most of them will just get lost in the shuffle.
