Today they say no AI was used in NWOS, who knows what the headline will be tomorrow. At the very least, I'm proud of the community for being so vocal that Level 5 responded

I love the Layton series so much that I bought LMJ 3 times (on 3 different platforms)- and I don't even like that game! These are the first Layton releases I probably won't get at all. Maybe it's hyperbolic to say, but it just doesn't feel like the same series anymore

Near as I can tell, Hino says no AI generated content will be included in the games themselves, but that they do use it in development, which is disappointing. Some articles claim he's stated that they also use it for character design and temp voice acting, but I haven't found a direct quote on that

Star Wars exists in the Ace Attorney universe, and this case is canon to the crossover with Layton, who is quite knowledgeable about most topics, maybe including pop culture. Basically what I'm saying is that there's a good chance there's a version of Layton that knows what a lightsaber is.
