— I heard that you already liked the original manga. What do you think the main appeal of this work is?

This is something I’ve only recently found the words for. This work depicts human emotions while telling simple stories of daily life; those emotions aren’t always beautiful or positive, they can also have negative parts, and in this work, the negatives are portrayed in a way that is intentionally not exaggerated. I believe this is the reason why I find it so compelling.

Exactly. There are so many human dramas out there, but I believe there doesn’t exist another work that depicts negative emotions quite as plainly as this one. I feel like there are more works that exaggerate the unpleasant aspects as unpleasant, and even go so far as to depict them as excessively negative, sometimes

As the music continues, her memories of her mother slowly begin to well forth in her heart.
She still remembers how she cried her eyes out on the day of her mother's funeral.
The piano was her mother's favorite instrument. That is why Sakiko loves the piano.
Sakiko's mother would hold Sakiko's hands so gently, and teach her to feel her way around each and every key, black and white.
In the days following her mother's death, Sakiko could still vividly recall every moment of her time spent with her mother, and kept playing song after song her mother had taught her.
Run.
All of this is fake. A dream spun from yarn by Morpheus. un from yarn by Morp How could Morpheus possibly know everything about her?
That is not her real mother.

She is nothing but a crude forgery.
And yet.

Her legs do not carry her to a stop. They seem to move faster, if anything.

[Arknights Mujica Spoiler] Why is Mutsumi is the only one with somewhat a happy dream 😭 A problem for Sakiko though, she couldn't take Mutsumi away from her happy life

The crowd lightly sways to the music. The feeble candlelight casts their shadows against the wall, like warm spring sunlight casting lilting shadows of trees.
Mutsumi sits on her stool, surrounded by all. Her eyes are closed, and as she strums, she gently sings.
What is on her mind in this moment?

biggest wish is to be with you.
Morpheus: Problem. At the end of each dream, she's all alone.
Morpheus: You always vanish suddenly-
Morpheus: Sakiko Togawa, you're a cruel, cruel person.
Sakiko Togawa: I... Cruel...?
Morpheus: Didn't the pest give you the whole sermon?
Morpheus: Dreams are the truest thoughts of the heart's depths. And in the heart of Uika Misumi, well—the more she longs to be with you, the less she can touch you.
Morpheus: I can weave a tiny little uninhabited isle just for the two of you, and yet all she can do is experience the pain of losing what she gains, again, and again.

Obsession and sorrow fill her body. They grow. They grow.
But she cannot move.
Uika: At first, I figured she'd had some flash of inspiration and went out for a walk.

I especially love how Takamasa Moue-sensei always use ink brush style for the Rakugo part. It's not only show how old Rakugo is as an art, and it gives a lot of freedom in line-weight to enhance the scene when needed. There's a lot you can tell by the line-weight alone

Akane Banashi once again prove why it's the best running manga on WSJ. The characterization of Issho is one of the best written antagonist I've read. For him, everything he does is for the love of the art, no matter how controversial.

I swear there's something changed with Otr behind the scene. It usually isn't this clean. Unfortunate that it takes time to be this good and now it's at the bottom of the ToC, hopefully these improvements helped Otr avoid the Axe. We need more people to read Otr! #OtrOfTheFlame #WeeklyShonenJump
