The wool of Galway sheep is as white as I've ever seen in natural wool. It's kind of famous for that.

I'll let you in on a secret. This is yarn from stash. Possibly from a charity shop. And it ain't wool. Manmade fibre. So there! Must admit that by and large I prefer knitting with natural wool.

Ah! But all three are unrelated - different gaits of the horse altogether. 🙃 Bottom is a good active walk, 2nd up is an Icelandic horse doing a toelt, 3rd is an easy pony canter. Any horse person would immedialtely call it out as a fraud if I put them out as a sequence. Not gonna risk that! 😁

Yeah. I'll leave the zoetrope thing to somebody else. Just the thought of having to knit the legs different for every pony is enough to make my head spin!

Good question. Some kind of jumper. Possibly hoodie. Depends on how far the yarn I have will go. That's the problem with freestyle knitting, you never know where it'll take you. And how exactly it'll look when it's finished.

Stranded colourwork (like Fair Isle or Norwegian knitting), with ladderback for the horses because of the long floats. Plenty charts available on the internet. I modified all the ponies to myu liking. Not actually difficult, but takes concentration and patience. Not TV knitting, that's for sure.

Up to the armholes in the round - That's where the little horseshoes are. Then flat. Those rearing stallions drove me insane, what with purling on the wrong side and reading my chart backwards.

Ah! Now here's the incentive I needed to try and finish this flight of fancy. I started it just to please myself because I adore knitting little horses and I had bits of yarn in various colours left. The recent fine weather put it on the back burner the last couple weeks. #lightitupMAL
