hrt is crazy because the cutting edge methodology is self-medicator Folk Wisdom, half of which is probably nonsense and the other half significantly more effective than established research, and we don't really know which half is which

doing doll community service (going to r/mtf to ask trans girls who complain about not seeing results on HRT for their dosage and levels, then introducing them to DIY if they're being underdosed)

i manually installed arch on a whim and it was a cool process. i don't think I'll stick with it (i really dont need rolling release for anything) but it was deeply instructive and satisfying to have to put together the system piece by piece. im a lot better with the terminal now too

complete supply chain for trans hormone production from feedstock to vials to be owned by a board of trans trustees, anything left over goes into monster civil rights legal fund, then direct cash transfers

honestly, the fact that nearly all telecommunications has addictive design elements now is probably "kalshi overlay over the news"-level detrimental to society but we're kinda used to it so nobody even notices anymore

the primary thing that annoys me abt SV technologism is not even the bad stuff, just the complete lack of imagination. like, we invented a system that can mostly-autonomously-kind-of drive a vehicle. what do we do with it? stick it in a regular private automobile and make taxis again, sure, whatever

it's kinda weird that when I was switching to a Linux distro the number 1 thing I was hyped about was getting into ricing and customisation... and now it's been 9 months and I'm still on basically default KDE and I am perfectly fine with it. I don't even use the terminal for anything other than git

if I'm ever founding a religion its first precept will be "thou shalt not make a computer program that talks like a human". it's wild how terrible chatbots are as an interface for a tool that does anything of value

i think part of why drama ends up so messy on microblogging sites is bc of how intractable they are. try to research a discourse and you will only find obviously biased retellings of it that paint either side as a baby eater (that ppl still take at face value) and the original posts were deleted
