It’s unbelievable but true nevertheless, it’s October and that means it’s both autumn and the final quarter of the year is here. I keep saying this, but time is slipping away so quickly! Whereas I had multiple plans and attempts to blog in September, all these plans fell through. I keep thinking about the fact I need to catch up on reviews somehow, but end up reading a book instead.

Hi and welcome to yet another Top Ten Tuesday post! It’s officially fall and that means it’s officially time to curate my fall TBR! There is one big fat giant release that everyone and their mother is looking forward to, including myself. So that one will definitely be on my TBR. But what other books do I hope to be reading?

Hi and welcome to a new Top Ten Tuesday post! Buckle up, because I’m going rogue once again. And I will be doing exactly that for the entire month of September, apart from next week. This week’s topic is Authors I’ve Met, but since we will be compiling our Fall TBR’s next week, it’s time to reflect on my summer 2026 TBR…

Another season has come and gone, a new season is upon us. For a few years now, I’ve been looking back and reflecting on this exact season, but a year ago. All this time I’ve been calling myself out a lot, but these reflections also serve as a gentle (or not so gentle) reminder of the books I still need to read.

Today I am sharing my thoughts on Witchcraft For Wayward Girls by Grady Hendrix. It's a book I was, unsually for me, drawn to by the cover, and I hadn't really read the blurb before beginning, less unusual for me. Here's what the book is all about: Source: Owned CopyRelease Date: 16 January 2025

Hi and welcome to yet another Top Ten Tuesday post! This week it’s time for me to go rogue once again, as today it’s time to put indie books in the spotlight. This indie freebie is suggested by both Veros @ Dark Shelf Of Wonders and Leslie @ Books Are the New Black. Personally I don’t read indie books that much as I hardly get exposed to them.

“August slipped away in a moment of time.” Yes Taylor Swift, you are so right about that! I mean, August truly did slip away in a moment of time. It feels like it started yesterday and poof, now we’re already in September. No wonder this monthly wrap up is so late, because time goes by so incredibly fast. Furthermore, reading and blogging still turn out to be two different hobbies and I’m still struggling with writing reviews.

August slipped away in a moment of time.

Hi and welcome to another Top Ten Tuesday Post! It has been a while since I did one of these, but I figured that now summer is astrologically over and there is no more sweltering heat, it’s time to return to blogging. And what better way to return than with a Top Ten Tuesday post? Today’s topic is Nationalities in Book Titles and is submitted by Cathy @ …

Some books are crossing your path out of the blue. This was the case for me with A Thousand Boy Kisses by Tillie Cole. It happens to have been a huge Booktok hit, but as I’m not on that platform, I only found out about it through Goodreads. It has been on my TBR for years, until I just decided to pick it up as part of my reading goal of decluttering said TBR.

Hi and welcome back to another Top Ten Tuesday post! This week’s topic is submitted by – or rather stolen from – Anne @ Head Full of Books and let me tell you, I’m glad The Storygraph entered the landscape of reading tracker apps, because this week’s topic is Books I Was Reading On This Day Over The Last Ten Years.

Once upon a time, you come across a book that immediately grabs your attention and piques your interest. Dream Count by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie is such a book. The title doesn’t reveal anything about the content of the novel at all, but with this author you’re guaranteed a reading experience addressing urgent topics and serious themes. Another thing Adichie’s books have in common is that the characters have African roots, just like the author herself.

WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Taking on a World of Words, where bloggers share the books that they’ve recently finished, what they are currently reading and what books they are planning to read next. Essentially you have to answer three questions (the Three Ws): What are you currently reading? What did you recently finish reading? What do you think you’ll read next?

I keep saying this, but I can’t believe how fast this past month has flown by. July started with a holiday, but I already told you guys about that. I was hoping to return to blogging soon, but that failed miserably apart from the Top Ten Tuesday posts I published. But whereas I haven’t reviewed anything and therefore am still incredibly behind on reviews, I have read quite a number of books.

Hi and welcome to another Top Ten Tuesday post! This week’s topic is a throwback topic from 2022 and is Books I HAD to Have Immediately but Still Haven’t Read. I mean, I could go on and on and on with this list, but they end up on my backlist anyway. As this is pretty backlist adjacent, I decided to use this week as a moment of reflection.

Hi and welcome back to another Top Ten Tuesday post! This week’s topic is a hard one for me to interpret as I’m not familiar with trendy language and English isn’t my first language either. However, Jana “stole” this topic from Damppebbles and Emma wants to know what books live in our mind rent-free. Does this mean something like books that immediately come to mind whenever you need to recommend one or more?

Hi and welcome back to another Top Ten Tuesday post! I’m writing this post in advance, so whenever this post is published this list might have changed already. Still, I now have time and I want to avoid writing these posts last minute as much as I can. So today’s Top Ten Tuesday post topic is: Books I Want To Read By New To Me Authors.

It’s that time of year again, or actually it’s a little bit overdue. I often want to have this post up at the start of the second half of the year, but due to several reasons this didn’t happen. However, it’s still July, so it’s time to recap the first half of 2026. And what better way than doing this by the Mid-Year Freak Out Tag!

July is already a few days old, but at the start of this month I was on holidays, so I had no opportunity to write and post my monthly wrap up. June however, was a bit of a two0-faced month. It started of pretty cold for the time of year, only to end with scorging heat. We had a heatwave on nearly the entire European continent, so that was agonizing.

Hi and welcome back to another Top Ten Tuesday post! I skipped last week as the topic was not too handy for me as I’m super out of the loop with new releases. One of my reading goals for this year is to declutter and read as many backlist books on my TBR as possible, so focusing on new releases is not on my priority list.

It has been hot for a longer while now, bloody, sweltering hot even. It started Thursday last week and it looks like it’s finally cooling down on Sunday. This weekend the heat hits its peak, especially today. The weather forecasts gives us temperatures as high as 38º Celsius, which is abnormal for the Netherlands. In the south and east of the country it’s worse than in the north and West, but here in the west we still hit the 36 or 37º mark today.

Whoa, it has been a very, very long time since I last participated in The Book Blogger hop! When looking back, my last post in this meme was on March 29, 2024. That’s too long ago, isn't it? But this week’s topic seems pretty interesting, as I struggle with this myself. This week’s question is: Do you prefer writing long, detailed reviews or quick, punchy ones?

Hi and welcome to another Top Ten Tuesday post! This week it’s time to curate our summer 2026 TBR and this topic comes not a moment too soon. In fact, actually a bit late as the weather just didn’t want to wait any longer. Since last Thursday we’re in the middle of a heatwave overhere that will probably last until at least Friday or Saturday.

It’s Tuesday and after being absent last week as I simply didn’t have the brain capacity to come up with an alternative topic nor bloghop, it’s time to get back into Top Ten Tuesday. This week’s topic is Bookish Wishes and I always skip these. But now however, it seems to be a good time to reflect on my Spring 2026 TBR…
