Hey, did you know there's an alternative to ChatGPT that makes sense economically and doesn't destroy the environment? It's called English majors and they will happily fix all of your documents for the low price of health insurance and a living wage.

Hey South Jersey, GOP Congressman Jeff Van Drew, you know the one that got elected as a Democrat and then switched parties, has refused to hold town hall meetings. So, people are going to his office today (3/13) at 4pm to protest and demand answers. If you can join in, the more the merrier!

Guest post by Judy Pearson – A Dead Captain and a Sunken Ship: The Fates of Sir Jacob Wheate and HMS Cerberus in Bermuda
I am delighted to welcome back Dr Judith Pearson, a now regular guest to All Things  Georgian having already written several pieces on here. Today she is going to share a fascinating naval story.  In 2008, archaeologists from the Bermuda National Trust, St George’s Archaeological Research Project, and Boston University spent six weeks excavating the foundations of the historic St Peter’s Church in the UNESCO World Heritage Site of St George’s parish, Bermuda. The church was commissioned in 1612 and most of the present structure dates to 1713. Since it was first constructed, the church has seen numerous expansions and renovations.

18th century stationery trade cards
Apart from spending time in bookshops I do love an old fashioned stationery shop and  have fond memories of such a bookshop/stationers in my home town, Nottingham, whilst the shop is long gone, the memories remain. This memory made me decide it was time to take a look at 18th century stationery shops, some of which I imagine were not dissimilar to the one in Nottingham. Let’s begin with a lengthy advertisement in the Hampshire Chronicle, 6 December 1784 for Blagden’s shop on the High Street, Winchester. Mr Blagden helpfully for us provided plenty of prices for stationery items sold in his shop, but not only did he sell stationery, but it was also a circulating library, a music shop and a pharmacy and perfumiers, there’s nothing like diversifying is there?
