I’m at Labrapalooza (an annual fundraising event for Labrador rescues) and my dog just snout painted a Georgia O’Keeffe esque Lesbian flag painting. So basically, Labiapalooza. 🧡🤍🩷

My black lab mix stands at an outdoor “Painting with the Pups” station beneath a handmade sign reading “I’m an ARTIST!” A wooden platform and painter’s palette with colourful paint sit in front of him.

Devastated to find out Brooke Eby has passed. Her disability advocacy content was so honest and challenged ableism while never reducing disability to tragedy or herself to inspiration. She showed the absurdity and humour of living with ALS on her own terms. And man she was so effing funny. ❤️

Unpacking “rosewood”: Taylor extensively used Gibson guitars on tour. Like many, they use rosewood in their instruments. Burning an instrument = artistic sacrifice, rebellion & rebirth. Jimi Hendrix famously set his guitar on fire on stage in 1967. The thing used to make the art is destroyed.

The more I listen to Pink Clouding, the more I adore it. It’s unbelievably sapphic and tragic in that Noah Kahan, devastating-lyrics-over-an-upbeat-song kind of way. I think it can be read as a love letter to Gaylors and/or a sequel to Peter, with Showgirl Taylor singing her regrets to Poet Taylor.

Southern Ontario is currently getting absolutely wrecked by severe hail and tornado storms. Giant trees have fallen on my street. The Lake Ontario gods are furious. And yet my cat has no cares to give.
