saw some hooded mergansers down at the pond today!!! i think i’m motivated to check out a fancy camera from work again and spend winter break lurking in the wetland 👀

been busy running around doing zine stuff for work, zine stuff for fun, lifting weights, and preparing to bring my mom home after she’s been hospitalized for almost 4 months!!! but naturally I had time to make this furtive #spirk addition to a display at work 📚

my ref desk shift was brightened IMMENSELY when I saw Survival is a Promise by @alexispauline.bsky.social on our new books display!! Prof Lex taught my WGS 350 class back in 2009(?) and, no exaggeration, it was the most fundamental class of my college experience. I’m beyond grateful for her!

got BirdNET-Pi up and running this weekend!!! basically, you hook up a microphone to a raspberry pi & it identifies all the birds it hears of course it’s only accessible from my home network… now I gotta figure out how to access it from work before I have to come back here in January 🐦‍⬛
