LT @laureltaylor.bsky.social · 12/10/2026There’s another one in that series too that I can’t remember the name of. They’re so lovely. We used to take a minute to cuddle & have a poem before school/daycare (and then do more reading at bedtime of other stuff) 110
LT @laureltaylor.bsky.social · 12/10/2026There are some really beautiful poem a day books. We had one called Tiger, Tiger Burning Brught that’s an animal poem per day. Some individual faves are Never Seize a Weasel by the Tail by Jack Prelutsky and Eletelephony by Laura Richards. The Quangle-Wangle’s Hat is great as is the Scroobius Pip 110
LT @laureltaylor.bsky.social · 07/10/2026I’ve been thinking about you so often, hoping you would get it. This is the most fitting resolution and I’m overjoyed for you. 110
LT @laureltaylor.bsky.social · 05/10/2026First time told not to sign any legal documents for X amount of time. We thought it was funny. And then my husband proceeded to laugh about that with me as if it were brand-new multiple times after, thereby showing why the advice was given 040
LT @laureltaylor.bsky.social · 30/09/2026Yes, my kid did it! 3 weeks in Edinburgh for story-writing. She didn’t want to do a language learning one. Would recommend! Planning on sending my younger one if there is a program that matches their interests next year 021
LT @laureltaylor.bsky.social · 28/09/2026Hydro flask with straw top also great and leak-proof. Zojirushi makes a good one for hot beverages. 010
LT @laureltaylor.bsky.social · 20/09/2026Meanwhile I am so proud of my college student who is in a tricky situation of work study that is salaried but the job could take wayyyy more time than the hours they’re paid (min wage). She is refusing to work more than she’s paid for. Advocating for herself IS character building & she’s crushing it 010
LT @laureltaylor.bsky.social · 19/09/2026Now can you tell us where you visited? I hope the effects are miraculously long-lasting! 110
LT @laureltaylor.bsky.social · 19/09/2026Lovely, lovely evening last night in Seattle. Matt’s in the Market continues to thrive. We had our first date there 20+ years ago in its first iteration 010
LT @laureltaylor.bsky.social · 19/09/2026Seeing your thread and then seeing this was really something. His focus is on “artificial” as negative wheras some of us have a bigger problem with “intelligence” bsky.app/profile/jose... 011
LT @laureltaylor.bsky.social · 17/09/2026Just remembering the time a former program director told me how proud she was of using “I” statements with her husband. Her example was, “*I* feel that I’m doing everything and *you’re* doing fuck all” 000
LT @laureltaylor.bsky.social · 16/09/2026You can’t control their actions after they have this information! If they choose to raise hell to get it resolved earlier, that’s just what happens when people have timely and accurate information 0150
LT @laureltaylor.bsky.social · 14/09/2026They also complained about the park near their house because the sounds of children playing were so loud…. It’s no wonder they live in an age-restricted community now… 010
LT @laureltaylor.bsky.social · 14/09/2026Mine had an air rifle propped up next to the screen door (they really don’t like pigeons cooing gently on their roof) and bug spray within easy reach…. My kids love(d) bugs and were horrified 130
LT @laureltaylor.bsky.social · 14/09/2026Mmmmmmmmm. The Kitchn had a really good “almond croissant cookie bar” recipe or something like that. Utterly delicious and pretty easy. 110
LT @laureltaylor.bsky.social · 12/09/2026I’m thinking Catherine Moreland is another such. Even though she’s naive, I find her less of a drip than Fanny Price. 000
LT @laureltaylor.bsky.social · 09/09/2026Or even write an email to the person expressing the fullness of your feelings, what you wish you could say to them, untempered by manners or conventions or their side of things. Then don’t send it (I never even put anyone in the To line so I can’t make a mistake). That + exercise/movement might ease 010
LT @laureltaylor.bsky.social · 08/09/2026I, just, *carob* prize? As someone growing up in the 80s with a health nut parent, carob is the abomination we were given in our Easter baskets instead of chocolate because it was supposed to be healthier. It was waxy sadness masquerading as chocolate. A carob prize, to me, shouts its falsity 050
LT @laureltaylor.bsky.social · 05/09/2026Buttons and DIALS are my face. We have a 2001 car with no screen and I never want to part with it 020
LT @laureltaylor.bsky.social · 04/09/2026My two favorite this to roll out using myofascial release balls! Squishy one for psoas, bigger, firmer one for QL. Ahhh 100
LT @laureltaylor.bsky.social · 04/09/2026I can get to First Hill faster than my kid can get to high school in West Seattle 000
LT @laureltaylor.bsky.social · 04/09/2026High school is 3.4 miles from us. SPS outsources busing to the city bus. HS neighborhood is very underserved. Student has to walk out the door 1 hour before school to guarantee on-time arrival. But today, the one direct early trip was cancelled. Transfer req with high risk buses will be too full. 100
LT @laureltaylor.bsky.social · 02/09/2026Emma is character I cannot bear to see myself in for many reasons. I can handle Clueless much better than Emma 170
LT @laureltaylor.bsky.social · 31/08/2026Me too! My recoil was because I associated it with cutesy fake britishisms 020
LT @laureltaylor.bsky.social · 30/08/2026The cronching sound of a baby eating watermelon was one of my very favorite sounds from babyhood 010
LT @laureltaylor.bsky.social · 29/08/2026Huzzah! We time ours with flu shots around Halloween to try to get max efficacy at top of season. Any day is a great day to get a vaccination! 010
LT @laureltaylor.bsky.social · 25/08/2026We had long planned to go to Easy Strret Records for brunch today. It’s just extra poignant to be here today with an all-Dolly playlist 000
LT @laureltaylor.bsky.social · 24/08/2026“Ray, this is 1987. Did you know a girl can be whatever she wants to be?” Fucking incredible! 000
LT @laureltaylor.bsky.social · 24/08/2026Thankfully I was correct about Some Kind of Wonderful being the least problematic Brat Pack film. Though I did have a heart attack realizing it’s nearly 40 years old. The teens approved! 110
LT @laureltaylor.bsky.social · 18/08/2026Best of the best pack movies by a mile. Am going to see if it holds up by watching with my teens before summer’s end 011
LT @laureltaylor.bsky.social · 15/08/2026I have a PhD. Have no interest in a r/phd community as that sounds insufferable 010
LT @laureltaylor.bsky.social · 15/08/2026I haven’t watched it and may not because I’m enjoying imagining him breaking into a terrible Puttin’ on the Ritz 020
LT @laureltaylor.bsky.social · 14/08/2026Emma hater here but happy to ride along with you and plenty love it. For my money, Juliet Stevenson is the best narrator possible. She’s done all the Austens. Just be sure you find the unabridged version. I got trapped into an abridged that didn’t announce itself. I wondered why nothing made sense 140
