I use a long lens and may crop my photos a little, so I'm not as close as it seems.

The local coyotes are quite chill. I've heard that people who let their dogs off leash (against the rules) sometimes have problems, but I give the coyotes space, and I've never seen them act aggressively. I do have pepper spray and a very loud alarm handy in case there's ever any trouble.
