In Brats (1930), we see Stan and Ollie play a dual role for the first time, it is the second #laurelandhardy film to feature only Stan and Ollie. It is also the only film where we see them as parents. The Cuckoo theme was used for the first time AND the photo on the mantelpiece is of Jean Harlow.

Their Purple Moment (1928) is one of a few #laurelandhardy films where Stan doesn't use his real name as his character name. While Ollie's character is Oliver Hardy Stan's is Stanley Pincher.

Released ninety-seven years ago today Perfect Day (1929) is the only #laurelandhardy film to feature a profanity. Co-star Edgar Kennedy says "Oh, sh*t!" when the families, trying to get away for a picnic, see a local minister walking down the street and rush to get out of his way.

Unaccustomed As We Are (May 1929) was Laurel and Hardy’s first talking film. Dialogue came after music and sound effects, as Hal Roach feared “talkies” might fail or cinemas wouldn’t convert to sound in time.

Our Relations (1936) like Way Out West (1937) was credited as "A Stan Laurel Production". In reality they were Hal Roach and MGM productions who had complete control and copyright over both films. Stan was however heavily involved in the production side of the films. #laurelandhardy

Notably, Dick Van Dyke, who had become close friends with Stan, delivered his eulogy: "God bless all clowns. Give them a long good life, Make bright their way—they're a race apart! Alchemists most, who turn their hearts' pain, Into a dazzling jest to lift the heart. God bless all clowns."

#laurelandhardy's third sound film Men O'War (1929) was filmed in Hollenbeck Park, LA. This caused a lot of trouble while filming, crowds would gather and laugh at the action thus spoiling the sound. It got so bad one day it resulted in filming being abandoned!

Mr and Mrs Hardy joining the Laurel's on a fishing trip off Catalina Island. Stan Laurel had a life long love of fishing. As a boy he would fish in the canal near his home in Ulverston, later in life he had his own yacht named the Ruth Laurel (later renamed the Ida May) a 50-foot cabin cruiser.
