Sterling work from @lauratrigg.bsky.social to pull all this together and try to make sense of the various complexities and challenges of working out what people have done before and what we might learn from that if we're going to try and do something similar again.

When we're interested in exploring people's preferences for how health gains from new treatments are distributed across the population (e.g. do we prefer more people getting less, or fewer people benefitting more), how do we elicit these? We've got a new paper about that: doi.org/10.1016/j.jv...

With the increased thresholds, NICE predicts an additional 3-5 TAs to be approved per year, but what will be the implications for discounts on list prices for TAs that would have been priced to the old threshold? Insights welcome! www.york.ac.uk/media/che/do...

Thank you so much! It seems like a win-win to direct resources here. It would be interesting to do a follow-up study on CE of the expansion of electives, rather than only looking at existing services, as we didn't include things such as infrastructure investments that could be needed etc

Where should NICE be prioritising spending? We found that elective surgeries can be very cost-effective (some ICERs between £5-10k) and investing into reducing waitlists for these would be a good use of resources Read the full paper here: link.springer.com/article/10.1... #healtheconomics

I’m happy to share our new working paper, "Are Female-Dominated Cancers Underfunded?", co-authored with my incredible doctoral advisors, @juditvall.bsky.social and @lidiafarre.bsky.social . This paper has evoked a range of emotions, but we hope it sheds light on an important topic.
