Yesterday I was fortunate to visit one of MHA's smaller care homes, Davids House tucked away in Harrow. Most people supported here are living with dementia. It was heartwarming to experience the care and compassion colleagues provide, all with a smile on their faces - a huge thanks to all!

What role will social care play in the current programme of NHS reforms and the design and delivery of the neighbourhood health agenda? This was the question SCIE’s Chair-Elect, Baroness Glenys Thornton, posed during the House of Lords’ debate focused on the contents of the King's Speech last week.

I was delighted to visit MHA Glen Rosa care home in Ilkley on Friday, where we hosted local MP Robbie Moore for a chat about the big issues impacting on #adultsocialcare, including how the health and social care landscape is changing. Thanks to residents and the Glen Rosa team for a warm welcome!

At MHA, we’ve now made our views known to the Home Office on their consultation on the proposed changes to settlement, telling them that their proposals will have real consequences for adult social care. www.linkedin.com/feed/update/...

Ahead of tomorrow's autumn Budget, I was delighted to join the Care and Support Alliance and millions of older people to ask the Chancellor to listen to the voices of people whose lives depend on social care. This Budget must work for all of us #FiguresThatMatter

Joint statement: Investing in adult social care for people and communities
As organisations spanning the breadth of the adult social care and support sector, we stand ready to work with the Government, and on a cross-party basis, as equal partners, to bring about the longer-term changes that are needed to build a care and support system that enables everyone to live the life they want to lead.

Social care provides independence, dignity, and improved well-being for millions of older people. The return on investment for every £1 invested in England, is £2.36 in socioeconomic benefits 👍 When we can’t care - who will? #ValueSocialCare #ProvidersUnite #StrongerTogether

NEW: Ending care worker recruitment from abroad is hugely risky for a #socialcare sector facing a vacancies void, and reforms to make care jobs more attractive for UK workers won’t kick in for years. Read the response from our social care expert @natashacurry.bsky.social here: buff.ly/3mLe7p9

We urge MPs, who are debating right now and particularly those who have our services supporting people in their constituencies, to support the social care sector and back the amendment to exempt health and social care providers from the ENICs changes #providersunite #ValueSocialCare #NICSDefeat

A few photos from yesterday's #ProvidersUnite rally. This was my first time being on a march, and it was a privilege to meet so many people passionate about adult social care. We must keep up the momentum!
