Week 7- Prompts #ConArtinSitu One thing I find interesting is how bananas keep showing up in art but in completely different ways. Comparing Andy Warhol’s prints and the duct taped banana really shows how ideas around art and value have changed over time.

Week 7- Museum #ConArtinSitu Since I was absent last time we attended this museum I had to first do a bit more exploring before deciding on a piece. I first went to the level 1 to look at the creative hub but it was closed. I then ventured to the Lower Level for the wonderscape and garden.

Week 5 #ConArtInSitu Can a picture make an argument? Yes, even without words, images can show a certain perspective. A picture can highlight an issue, make something feel important, or even challenge what we thought before. It’s not always an argument, but it still shapes our opinions.

Week 5 - museum #ConArtInSitu Today I was excited to explore the Denver Art Museum. I only ended up being able to explore the 5th-7th floors of the Martin Building. (This place is huge!!)

Week 3 #ConArtInSitu 1. how do we start? Do we necessarily have naive responses to art as a starting point? I think we start by just saying what we actually see and feel. The “naive” response isn’t a bad thing. It’s our first, honest reaction to art before we overthink it or try to sound academic.

Week 3 - Reading #ConArtInSitu In section two, what stood out is how much bad art writing comes from overthinking or being scared to be wrong. It comes down to saying what you see, what it could mean, and why it matters. Being specific and clear is way more important than trying to sound smart.

Week 3 #ConArtInSitu How does the artist's imagery work on your senses? The imagery mostly worked visually but also emotionally. El esplendor de la memoria was really delicate and calming. The flowing fabrics felt almost dreamlike, and the way they moved made the pieces feel alive.

Week 2 - Reading Good art writing is clear, structured, and actually based on what you see and feel. A lot of bad art writing sounds confusing and uses “International Art English” because people overcomplicate instead of being direct. #ConArtInSitu

Week 2 #ConArtInSitu 1. What is "contemporary"? Contemporary is basically what’s happening now, or what feels current and relevant to the world we’re living in. It’s not just about time, it’s about connection, like things that still speak to us, challenge us, or reflect what’s going on today.

A few days later and I'm still thinking about some of the crazy textures and colors at Museum of Contemporary Art definitely made me look twice at details I’d normally skip over. #ConArtInSitu

Looking at Ana María Hernando’s Seguimos cantando (waterfalls) I like how immersive it is and how you don’t just see it, you feel surrounded by it. The falling pink fabric makes the image of a waterfall, transforming soft textiles into an immersive experience. #ConArtInSitu
