Kitchen is a mess, but coffee makes everything better. That is, @welshpixie thing is now properly framed and attached. Even went to prof framing workshop for that, hopefully it will protect artwork from kitchen goo.

One edge of the elastic is already attached, other is partially, thus, the needle pinned in the knitwork is visible. I think, the stitch used might be half herringbone, if that is a real name of a stitch.

I'm a strong believer in baking gingerbread beforehand and storing it in airtight box till Christmas, but this year with all the #CatDuty I got to this just today.

Recent days have been quite stormy around here, so I managed to gather some crafting supplies out there. Even better, I've already put them to good use, I fixed the SO's favorite umbrella!

A photo of sleeveless short grayish linen shift or dress hung on a hanger. It features lovely scalloped top finishing. It also features vertical center seam bottom half of which is covered with diamond patches. Despite some of the patches being quite big, they blend well with the base dress and are barely visible.

Closer look to the patched seam shows seven vertically aligned differently sized partially overlapping diamond patches with almost invisible stitching.

Fragment of a light gray skirt. A thin white linen waistband is partially visible, it features 2 small holes neatly stitched with buttonhole stitch and a drawstring - thin synthetic cord - coming out of them. The skirt fabric is lightweight and very flowy, but nothing much about skirt construction is visible. The drawstring is reused leftover string form curtain gathers.

Sleeve (lower part) of a white whirt layed on a flat surface. There is visible 1 button closing the sleevecap and a slit ending in a diagonally places reinforcement square. Reinforcement is attached with almost invisible stitches.

Straight seam (it is a side seam) ending with a slit. Reinforcement patch here is again diagonally turned square, but the corner next to the slit is folded down, turning the square into pentagon. Patch is attached with small whipstitch.

In theory sewing machine attachment that rolls up a neat, even hem, is the best idea. In practice... at least the ones meant for old Singer machines are so fiddly. After first 10 meters I think I start to get it better, but still... there will be a lots of thread-ends to hide. #sewing

Piece of white cotton with one edge visible laid down on a skirt-covered knee. Next to the edge there is wide white lace. Lace is half attached, needle and thread is visible in the middle of the picture. Position of the needle and how it is pinned in the fabrics suggest that lace is being attached by backstitch.
