We begin this Pride Month with the work of the pioneering photographer Laura Aguilar (@laura_aguilar_photo). Her photograph “Plush Pony #25” (1992) and its series includes portraits of working class lesbian patrons of Plush Pony, in El Sereno, Los Angeles. Now on view at El Museo until July 5.

We mourn the loss of our colleague, Renato Rosaldo, who mentored generations and was a foundational figure in Latinx cultural studies. His latest works revolved around culturally grounded poetry— antropoesia. His legacy is forever lasting in his texts and the students he mentored.
