You absolutely don't gotta hand it to her under any circumstances, but MTG turning against MAGA has been at least a fun little side story.

Greatest hits from my neighborhood. I call so frequently that the cops came to my house to tell me they weren't going to do their jobs, so stop calling. I have not stopped calling. No single thing boils my blood more than sidewalk parkers. It's the easiest fucking thing in the world to NOT do

Johnston wouldn't ever want to sully the pristine unspoiled character of their town
The ocean of pavement directly in front of Johnston town hall. It's the intersection of Atwood Ave and Hartford Ave, each with 5 lanes (2 each direction + left turn). There is a Burger King, a Shell Station, and other car-oriented businesses along both sides of the roads."3 Green Hill Road" in Johnston showing American Salvage, a 2 story metal building with cars parked out front and an open garage with a bunch of dumpsters sitting in front of it. It's good that they dedicated 1/4 of the park space to a parking lot. Where else would anyone put their car?
Google Maps satellite view of Harbor Island Park. The park is about 1/3 the width of the very narrow island. The 4-lane Harbor Island Drive makes a jog around the park, and the park itself has a full one quarter of its land devoted to parking. Across the highway from the park there are 3 or 4 very large parking lots for the marina docks on other side of the island.

I get that American cities in general were in rough shape in the middle of the 20th century, but I just can't for the life of me fathom how anyone ever thought this was a good idea.

Criminally negligent design. This is the primary connection between Franklin's commercial district with a neighborhood that has an elementary school, a park, and access to the SNE Trunkline Trail. SNETT ends ingloriously at an industrial park, about a mile short of Franklin center.
King Street in Franklin, MA where a driver hit and killed a 15 year old boy on a bicycle. There are 4+ lanes of asphalt with wide sweeping slip lanes. The slip lanes have yield signs that are routinely ignored. There is a narrow sidewalk on the south side of the street, with a crosswalk that intersects one of the slip lanes.Google Maps screenshot showing the location of the crash near the northbound offramp of I-495 onto King Street in Franklin. The Southern New England Trunkline Trail is highlighted on the left side of the map. It ends at Grove Street, just short of 495 and access to Franklin center.

This asshole needs to permanently lose his license, watch his car get crushed into a cube, and spend some time in jail.
Screenshot from Massachusetts subreddit. Title of the post is "First Massachusetts Speeding Citation (113 in a 65) - Dudley District Court - Attorney Recommendations?"

Text of the post: "My husband, who is in his 40s, recently received his first speeding citation. He was stopped on I-84 East in Sturbridge this past weekend. The officer stated the speed was measured with LIDAR, and the citation alleges 113 mph in a 65 mph zone.

The citation is for speeding only. There was no accident and no additional charges such as reckless or negligent operation. The fine is $485, and the hearing would be through Dudley District Court.

We're trying to understand what realistic outcomes people have seen in similar situations, especially for someone with no prior citations. We're also trying to decide whether hiring a traffic attorney would be worthwhile.

Has anyone here dealt with Dudley District Court for a speeding citation, or worked with a local attorney they would recommend? Any experiences, advice, or attorney referrals would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you."

What makes it even more tragic is that East Providence used to be a classic small walkable city with great transit options. Zooming out, you can see the dense walkable core of the city. 5 acres of uninterrupted asphalt should have no place in EP..
zoomed out view of the area showing East Providence's dense downtown core surrounded by residential neighborhoods with a mix of 1, 2, and 3 family homes. Several streetcar lines used to converge here, and the railroad station for the city was just west of this view. It was demolished for the construction of I-195.

This is where he was killed, because zoning requires this much parking but does not require any accommodation for people walking through the ocean of pavement. Also, across the street from here is East Providence's "transit hub" which is just a bench with no shade where 3 bus routes stop.
Shaw's parking lot in East Providence, RI where Gordon Wood was tragically killed by a driver. It is almost 5 acres of pavement with no footpaths or any accommodation for pedestrians other than a few meager painted crosswalks.

Also need to do something about policy that results in shit like this. This is the parking lot where he was killed. An ocean of pavement with no accommodation for anyone on foot, bordered by 5 lane roads.

Local Hero makes really good sandwiches but they should probably proofread the speech-to-text before putting it on the menu. I was tempted by the Italian Several, but I ended up going with the baguette. I can't wait to hear the juicy state wedding tips.
