Apropos WHY I was allowed to watch WHBQ Fantastic Features - the Monster of Ceremonies - SIVAD (actually Watson Davis) - was semi-related to my mother, so I was allowed to stay up watching these, mostly, totally inappropriate movies as a young child. My parents have a lot to answer for, TBH.

I answered “The Uninvited” starring Ray Milland. Just so you know - I wasn’t even born when this movie was released in 1944, but WHBQ in Memphis had a late Saturday night program in the 1960’s - Fantastic Features - dedicated to horror films. My parents, bless their hearts, allowed me to watch.

@darthbluesky.bsky.social My very kind and talented neighbour, Felicity, who’s recuperating at home with a broken leg, is bored. So she sketched my mini-dachshund - Gemma, aka “Velcro”.

Sen. Susan Collins helped steer millions in federal defense contracts to Navatek, whose CEO illegally funneled thousands of dollars to her campaign. The FBI sought to launch a probe and was eyeing Collins and other lawmakers. Then Trump gutted the unit in charge. THREAD 🧵

Not so lethal Australian wildlife: Green Tree Frog on the bonnet (aka, the hood) of my car. In the garage, mind you, where he’s living rent free.

I’ve lived in Australia for 30 years. Do I still freak out about venomous snakes around the pool? Yes. Yes I do.

TFW Mom forgets to close the door and going to the loo becomes a full-contact sport.
Mini-dachshunds have no concept of loo privacy.

That feeling when you’ve just had 13 teeth extracted. Dental disease in dogs is no joke.
Unhappy dachshund.

If U.S law demands expats file a tax return (and pay taxes) based on US citizenship, even though we’re domiciled in another country, then we’re damn well entitled to vote in federal elections. No taxation without representation.
