100% All Keys PBs during tourney qualifiers as of late. #zelda2 #speedrun

LarviStar @larvistar37.bsky.social · 24/09/2026

This next qualifier attempt went rather well all things considered. 3rd total 1CC, 3rd 85:xx, a 2nd 85:59. I...wow. I misleveled in Palace 4 and was fated in Death Valley + Great Palace on 1 spare life. Possible 83 pace out of P3 is telling though!

The Zelda 2 Mario 100% All Keys rerouting paid off! Two nice PBs cutting my baseline 1:16 down a lot, there's sub-hour potential down the road! Debating if wall glitches should be restricted, but for now... I almost game over'd on the last hit in the 1:04:04 LOL #zelda2 #speedrun

Been quite for a few, just trying to practice and get familiar with Zelda 2 Rando stuff so I can use upstart flagsets with harder settings, also thoughts on rerouting Z2Mario 100% All Keys to incorporate dark death mountain + some flute usage but risk early game overs. Will stream tomorrow evening!

morning all, I'm a bit confused on how I wanna go about celebrating my birthday. I would have planned something at least a week prior but I don't want the plans to negatively blow up again. 16+ hour livestreams are not the way to go, but I wanna maybe try something I usually don't? We'll see then.

So, the Z2R stream results from the other day: Run 1: 2:01:52 | Run 2: 3:13:24 I should not have ran a second seed into the night, it was 3:30 by the time I finally beat it and that was mostly because of complete confusion for the first hour or so, then I was slowly unraveling what went wrong. #z2r

So I was practicing the Zelda 2 100% All Keys speedrun the other day. I think I'm enjoying learning the speedgame a ton if this devious underhand swag Gooma kill is to say anything. Ultimate goal is *no game overs* (where the category gets its name), so maybe I won't be this aggro during runs?

LarviStar @larvistar37.bsky.social · 02/09/2026

Hey I'm bored, I wanna practice speedrunning OG Zelda 2. 100% All Keys category with 7/8/8 level routing. Long term goal is to get really close to, or a no-game-over run. It's been 8 years, I should do much better this time. Also, a tourney's coming up for October! www.twitch.tv/larvirestart

Z2Rando stream result: 2:30:16 with 50 deaths, 17 resets/game overs. Nice little change of pace. Really weird how nothing vital was locked behind Raft post-Go Mode. Needed attack-6 and downstab before all these groups of knuckles and horseheads were forgiving to fight. #z2r

Good news, I made a full drive recovery! Thanks to PhotoRec and DMDE, it turns out I have >3 YEARS of ShareX images (2017-12 - 2021-02) that would have been lost forever! Here's my first time setting up XSplit (yep!) on 2018-01-14 to stream SMB1 warpless speedruns. Didn't use twitch until October.

An Xsplit capture of what would be my first "stream layout" ever.

The Twitch stream interface setup in an old version of XSplit that I used. This was on a Pentium 4 CPU with an iGPU chip, but the free trial usage on this program actually restricted certain features. I forget what though.

LarviStar @larvistar37.bsky.social · 28/08/2026

REALLY, YOU THINK I'M GOING TO BE PREY TO YOUR CORPO BS AND BUY YOUR PRODUCT JUST TO RECOVER A DYING HARD DRIVE'S FILES?

100

LarviStar @larvistar37.bsky.social · 27/08/2026

Through sheer luck, I have an ongoing drive backup of what I thought had died on me yesterday! Started last night, hopefully should be done by late evening. Once this is done, since this drive is unusable, I will have to just let the drive dust up back in the original PC. Been sad and stressed ofc.

Alright, global top 10 in puzzlica's infinite minesweeper game. Huge cutoff between 9th and 10th is wild. Also my board in case anyone is curious about what's up. I have touched the final singularity density layer in a few spots but it keeps forcing me around in other directions, it's brutal.

010

LarviStar @larvistar37.bsky.social · 26/08/2026

So I had an old PC I used to use from 2017-2021, was a Windows Vista machine with an 80 GB HDD. Hooked it up to a docking station, it did take a few moments to show up in file explorer, but not one minute after trying to locate/copy files... I think it crashed/died. Hope you're having a good day.

www.twitch.tv/larvirestart I haven't streamed in a bit, anyone up to watch me try to handle ALttPR door rando? It's Basic Doors preset but still gets my foot in the door with trying more insane settings. May do a pots shops & bones preset later if the interest and energy is around afterward.

Sooo...I'm back on playing grukuby's infinite minesweeper game again after a sorta long time! Transferred my data fully over from Mumuplayer to LDplayer, the firmware version differences prevented me from updating this game past adding achievements. Yeah I use emus, phones are too expensive sry :(

LarviStar @larvistar37.bsky.social · 20/08/2026

Haven't done ALttPR in like two weeks...tried out the Pots Shops and Bones (216/469 pieces) preset on the avianart DR generator. Omg I kinda like it in a way! It still ends too quick even with entrance shuffle and more thorough dungeon exploration necessary. No rods nor flippers swimge. #alttpr

7,500+ correct move streak in an MMO of infinite minesweeper with achievements...the most painful achievement in the game, cool flag type reward! Currently ranked #55 of 4,130 total players in score atm (542k pts), maybe all achievements or top 10 next? Game link: infiniteminesweeper.com

Screenshot of the 7500 streak achievement. This took too much focusing...

In my little phase atm where I try to find various peoples' attempts at an infinite recursive minesweeper, here's screenshots of a few. Yes one of them has a prestige and upgrade tree system and while it's a pain to play (plus page is in Finnish), the prestige mechanic is unique, I like that.

LarviStar @larvistar37.bsky.social · 13/08/2026

Guess who might be back to speedrunning? One of the first Zelda 2 Adventure of Mario RTA speedruns! I barely clutched a "100% AK, 1CC" variant of the category. 5 deaths overall, last life Great Palace the whole way, messed up level routing in P4 so I ended up at 7-6-6 for stats instead of 8-7-6.

011

LarviStar @larvistar37.bsky.social · 12/08/2026

Wanna try streaming again, maybe something's cleared up for me? Speedrunning Zelda 2 as Mario got my interest and I'd want to figure out routing EXP, maybe try and fail at an 100% AK run attempt once we have something put together? www.twitch.tv/larvirestart

So I've hopped on the Gen1 recomp train after actively following its first reveals and seeing just how crazy modding it has become so quickly! I've always been casual with Gen1 so I'm taking a Bulbasaur and this silly bunny around with me!

120

LarviStar @larvistar37.bsky.social · 08/08/2026

So as of late I got back on playing a pokemon shock tetris remake. Over 1 million points on the first run of the Alcremie bonus mode. Surviving with mostly pentominoes is hard, I tell you! Also, only like 878 more unique pokedex entries to fill!

A Tetris board very much about to top out in the next few seconds.

The final result screen. The slight mojibake between "NEW HIGH SCORE!" is due to using characters not supported in the gen3 pokemon font I swapped over the main one this game uses for most text.

TAS clip from LOTAD WIP of Zelda 2 Adventure of Mario So part of the Palace 4 route optimizing backtracks warrants glitching OUT of the palace via invalid exits! Because it's Mario, I got creative and loved it! It's faster to bruteforce out the left side somehow, but that's not as flashy.

So I'll just try not to stream for a while. I'm no good to be torturing myself mentally with evil randomizer logic and physically. I'm repeatedly giving myself panic attacks while my computer refuses to load everything up for streams on a *15 minute headstart*. Some day, I won't hate myself.
