So it was recently discovered that you CAN redeem Channel Jirachi in Emerald - if you've specifically beaten Roxanne at least 4 times. For whatever reason, Emerald's internal flag for having done that is the same flag that R/S uses for entering the Hall of Fame. Sounds weird, but yeah, it works!

Did you know? The legendary genies have 1-4 spikes on their heads. But Tornadus comes before Thundurus in the Pokédex, putting them in the wrong order by the amount of spikes on their heads! Like and Follow for more obscure Pokémon facts 👍 #Pokemon

nope. a 7% and a 3% encounter in the same table isnt possible in gen 3/4 because the standard slots are 2x20%, 4x10%, 2x5%, 2x4% and 2x1%. fishing, surfing and safari have their own slots but theyre often just more combined due to smaller species variety, i.e. 40/30/15/10/5 for fishing in hgss

Is there a particular reason you're going after a 7% Chinchou, and what's the setup for it? The encounter table normally has 20% Chinchou and you can boost it to 60% with Static

i think everyone greatly exaggerates the number of "must have" bank exclusive shinies. i really cant see a world where GF keeps alolan rattata shiny locked and we're sure to go back to alola for poipole/type null. the only ones you REALLY miss out on are full ribbon masters and early gen mythicals

love hunting locked shinies! i have my eyes on a few mystery gifts with lock removal in gen 6/7 before bank closes, like victini and hoopa. they apparently transfer to home just fine as well, but you may run the risk of big pikachu stealing your 3ds

i did some spreadsheets to figure out what i want to transfer home and i only need to hunt two shinies (phanpy from crystal vc and deoxys from frlg), but ideally id want to do a few lock removals for some unreleased shinies. in total i have 20 ribbon masters to do, FUN! (but most of them are easy)

wow what a great 30th anniversary, am i right?? why did i not ribbon master my guys earlier!? most of them are ready for gen 6/7 but i still have a few rascals in gen 3 to ribbon. my biggest hope is that TPCi would offer some way to do 3DS → HOME transfers at official events but dang this sucks

I never thought the 30th anniversary of Pokémon would feel so empty! They have lots of cool projects but we don't even get an event Pikachu in ZA/SV? I was sure they were going to release some mythicals/legends from the shiny jail this year but guess not. The 20th anniversary was so much cooler 😕

i mean the two given examples were: 1) pay up 2) play the most monotonous battle mode across all pokemon games, for hours. there are completely fair examples of this in modern pokemon (infinite tms, pc access from bag, name raters/move tutors going extinct) but these two things are NOT it.

gen 1 is SO fun, i wish there was gen 1-ized versions of all the mainline pokemon games. unova as gen 1 would be amazing to experience! the movepools being so far from what they are today and the artstyle are why i always pick rby over frlg (should i want to play a kanto game for the 38th time)

oh me neither, only having a few ways to hunt 9 shinies just isnt something that excites me. i will struggle with some of the gender differences in gen 4, i have to do the exact same hunt multiple times for the garchomp and the lumineon lines 😔

id do gen 5 but doing the exact same hunt for the same target does not sound fun (mainly the starters & fossils) im doing one for gen 4 sinnoh and even repeat starters sound pretty fun with DP Egg ACE (the same setup as Manaphy but with any egg), HGSS Masuda and potential Starly phases in DP
