today i saw EVERYBODY TO KENMURE STREET. although the protests depicted in this film (which took place in glasgow) surely would have looked very different in the US, its good to be reminded of what urgent and timely solidarity action can do. highly recommend. www.bbc.com/news/article...

as a white american who collaborates with boricuans, i always take the position of 1) reinforcing the idea of self-determination, 2) educating other americans about the US as a colonizer in the 20/21st centuries, and, as much as possible, 3) referring to PR as a nation, not a commonwealth or state.

i got to spend mayday with the leadership of a grassroots museum in puerto rico interpreting anti-colonial resistance that is making a succession plan for the post-founder era. it was kinda sorta perfection. quotidian as it has become, zoom is still one heckuva time/space continuum bender.
