This week, CPAC, the conservative political action group, meets in #Hungary to learn how to create a government like that in Budapest. Read about the economic conditions that helped Viktor Orbán gain control in my novel. #CPAC #Hungary #books

I got my first US review. The Midwest Book Review calls Ilona Gets A Phone “distinctively impressive and narrative driven storytelling telling…unreservedly recommended for personal reading lists.”

In my book, one of the ways Ilona clashes with her American daughter-in-law is through food. Lecsó, as every Hungarian knows, doesn’t taste right without lard and kolbasz. But Melissa devised a vegetarian option which she refers to as her ‘go-to Hungarian meal.’ Ilona is mortified of course.

With Hungary in the news lately, try a bit of fiction that both entertains and gives a bit of insight into how all the promise of 1990s can lead to the strongman illiberal government of Viktor Orbán. From Dedalus Books. Pre-orders now.
